Since Square Enix is going to be part of the Apple Arcade, if they ever do port the FF games to the Apple TV, I am curious if they will be part of that service. Square guards the FF property, but I think that they are well known enough for Apple to be willing to give them a pretty good monthly split per subscriber that plays their game...
I'd guess probably not. They said that Apple Arcade was getting exclusive games, and at $5/month for the entire subscription vs. these notoriously expensive app games, I'd be pretty surprised if these ever made it in there.

HAHA, we know Final Fantasy 7 is the best one. So we're not discounting it. - Square Enix, probably
7 is like playing 6 lite, but it's still solid

If you want a Game of Thrones clone, get Tactics.

I am assuming Tactics is a different game play style than the Role playing Final Fantasy games? Which one do you think is the best role playing FF with a turn based fighting system? It's been a long time since I've played RPGs, but I loved the old FFvii. I also liked to have something I don't need an internet connection so I can play on long plane rides. Thanks

Lol.. Final Fantasy XI (aka Final Fantasy Online) was in no doubt one of the worst decisions Square Enix ever made. Just awful.

FF6 on android hasn't been updated since nov of 2015. It's my favorite. Would have loved to pick it up at this price. How is the ios support on these games?
Ff6 looks and runs great on my iPad pro 12.9 3rd gen

What's the difference between the two FFT versions? I see one works on iPhone and iPad while WOTL is iPad only. From my understanding WOTL is from the PSP port.

Which do I want to buy? Any downside to buying the iPhone/iPad version and just playing on my iPad?

You can't go wrong with any of them. 4 is the first character and story-driven Final Fantasy, 5 is the sleeper gem, 6 is the cult classic, 7 is the most popular, 9 is the best port, and Tactics is just amazing. I would go for 9, since it feels the most polished. Be aware that it does have in-jokes for longtime fans of the series. Still, it's a wonderful game, and like all FF games it does stand alone.

Would like to see the ff8 port on ios. The remastered looks pretty good. I am pretty sure they can do a ffx port for iphones too as their hardware is more than enough capable.
I wish! I have no idea why they haven't ported 8 at least. I know it's the black sheep of the series, but I love it anyway.

I would suggest VI and Tactics. The others are good but those two were the most memorable and overall best IMO

The reviews for FFVI on Android are very discouraging. The game seems to crash a lot in certain areas. I'll pass.

WoTL is among the best games here and is among the cheapest. What a deal.

AFAIK WoTL was never on DS. I think that was final fantasy tactics Advance, which is a far more kid friendly series than FFT. I'm also really sure it hasn't come out on switch. WoTL is a redub of the original FFT for PSX that came out originally on PSP and then eventually iOS. It is considered by many to be the best strategy RPG in history with arguably the best story of any FF game. At this price I would absolutely recommend giving it a shot.

War of the Lions is one of my all-time favorite games, but I found the touchscreen controls on my 12.9" iPad to be way too cumbersome. It really needs controller support added.

How does the iPad version of FFT: WOTL compare to the native iPhone app? I'm not a huge fan of touch controls, but I wonder if that aspect provides a better experience on iPad vs. iPhone (which I already have but haven't played)?

Came here to say this. The rest are either meh app store exclusives or inferior ports of great games, but WotL on iOS is arguably the best version of the game if you're not vehemently opposed to touch controls.
