Durable and powerful

Coming to a screen near you soon
For truly extraordinary color, contrast, and brightness, the Yoga S730 will soon feature Dolby Vision™*. This advanced imaging technology, along with the 13.3" FHD wide-angle display and razor-thin bezel edging, will transform your viewing and entertainment experience like never before.
*Expected to be available by December 2018.

Runs all day, recharges fast
With up to 10 hours of battery life, you could stay entertained on a flight from London to Barbados—and in the taxi on the way to the hotel. If you do need a boost, just power off and charge for an hour, for up to 80% battery life.
Your fingerprint is your password
With an optional fingerprint reader, you can log in to your laptop in less than two seconds— that's three times quicker on average than typing a password. Enabled with Windows Hello, it's the fastest, most secure way to sign into a Windows device without a password.
Thin, thinner, thinnest
At just 11.9 mm, the Yoga S730 is our thinnest Yoga notebook yet. So thin you could lose it in a stack of magazines.
Thinking inside-out of the box
To make a notebook this thin without compromising performance, we had to think differently. The cooling system, for instance, pulls air in through secondary vents hidden in the keyboard, enabling a smaller fan—and a much thinner chassis.

1080p is fine as long as you pick the right software that can use Intel iGPU. Probably have to go with 16 GB version tho.

Have any published reviews determined why the battery life is so abysmal for these machines? Significantly worse than category average. Anyone? I really want to bite

I wouldn't recommend this laptop. Got it a few days ago and the reason for poor battery life is a combination of things. First of all, this laptop is SUPER thin. Thinnest laptop I've ever seen. Fits a fairly small battery. 45wh. Second, this laptop runs pretty hot. To the point of it being too hot to have on your lap. So that affect the efficiency of the laptop. I had to return it because of that and also the WiFi card sucks. It will disconnect every 15 minutes and will require a full restart to work again. Sometimes multiple restarts.

Do you think I should initiate a return of my i5 (8GB) for this i7 (16GB)?
Here's my numbers.. is it worth the extra $ and the headache (and the ""points"")?

recently bought (incl. taxes):
i5 w/ 8 GB ram
$630 - ($120 points) = $510

this is:
i7 w/ 16 GB ram
$788 - ($193 points) = $595

I'm also returning mine I purchased labor day weekend.
The WIFI is actually unacceptable due to a major problem with the Realtek card installed from looking around online that Lenovo absolutely is aware of by now. I could probably tolerate this single issue by replacing the WIFI card (which I planned to do). Unfortunately my "N" key doesn't actuate properly when pressed so about half the the time that key doesn't register when pressed. It's only that key but it's so annoying. I thought I could cope by pressing the key harder but when typing normally it's unavoidable. Battery life is okay but fine for me.

Positives: Excellent screen for the money. Much brighter than others I've seen and I have zero backlight bleed.

I really don't want to return it but I shouldn't have to send in a brand new computer for service.

Have you tried any other ultrabook? From little research I did, heat is common issue for high performance ultrabooks. The primary reason I am still not switching from a laptop to ultrabook. If you find one that does not have heat issue please let me know. These ultrabooks look slick.
