I dint know gender is identified by shoe size !! 😳 Shoes are meant for foot, you know that rite? 😄
... You didn't know that shoes should be sized for men differently from a woman?

I bought a pair similar to these while on vacation recently in Maui. They pick up a ridiculous amount of sand and small rocks, to the degree that I was better off just going barefoot or wearing my sneakers in the ocean.

I brought them home anyway to use while in our lake, hoping they would perform better than in the ocean. They didn't, and over the course of the summer they became completely trashed the few times that I did use them.

I only paid $11 for them but if I had to do it again, I would gladly spend double the price and buy some better water shoes.
Appreciate the comments but buying something similar doesn't always equate to having actual product knowledge of these particular shoes. These may or may not be better than what you bought.

I bought pair of Merrells similar to these and they have been going strong for years but they do pick up the sand and debris just like you cheap set. It's somewhat the nature of water shoes with mesh that don't fit tightly at the ankles. I had a pair of Columbia that did the same. The Merills and Columbias cost significantly more than these but pick up sand and debris. Basing a purchase on cost versus design may not be wise. My purchases and yours do not reflect on this particular brand except in generalities and really don't help in a buying choice.

This particular brand it's even worse as they offer various styles and configurations for the same price. The neoprene ones are going to act differently than the mesh one and one type may work better for one situation and the other for another. The have different soles, different fabrics and different closure designs and it's hard to make any general statements without first hand knowledge.

Look at these soles. Some models have a solid sole, and some are perforated. It's the battle between grip and picking up debris
I was referring to the shoes picking up sand and small stones inside the shoes due to the mesh. I was not referring to the outer soles.

Which is way I stated in the first sentence of my original comment, "I bought a pair similar to these while on vacation recently in Maui." That is why I used the word similar. I never claimed that I owned or used the specific shoes in this deal. That being said, I bought a pair in Maui however that look identical to these, and therefore based my comments on my experience using those shoes. I posted those comments to provide insight to others here based on my experience. That is what many of us do here at SD to help each other, and I for one find that helpful.

I did not base my purchase on cost. I based it on what was available to me at the time. For me, it was buy the cheap mesh water shoes or nothing. I then based my review of those shoes on their design, function, and durability in real-world use. Which is why I stated in my original comment that "...I would gladly spend double the price and buy some better water shoes."

I disagree. More often than not, if it looks, sounds, walks, and acts like a duck, it's a duck. My cheap water shoes look identical to these, which is why I posted my comments. And I stand by those comments. Mine are cheap mesh shoes made overseas of cheap materials with a poor design. If you or anyone else feel differently about the shoes in this deal, feel free to pay $9 to find out for yourself. Good luck with that.

"Similar to these" gives no information at all. This deal offers about fourteen different shoes and different styles and materials and many are not mesh. You bought a cheap pair of mesh yet gladly spending the extra for the Merills that are also mesh will get you the much better materials but you will still get you sand in the shoes as I know from personal experience. It's nothing wrong with the shoes it's just how mesh performs. In a less sandy application they may be the ideal water shoes. They are expensive water shoes yet have the same problem. Cheap or expensive mesh shoes will get you sand and debris. Tight fitting neoprene shoes that this deal offers will perform as water shoes in a different way than mesh ones and may be more to your liking regardless if cheap or expensive. That's exactly why I stated that your post is not really helpful as it wasn't clear at all what you are comparing to what. The apples and orange thing. Sorry if I offended in some way just trying to bring some clarity to any considering a purchase.
