Aqueon Aquarium Water Changer 25ft is on sale right now at Amazon for $18.52. Since they're presumably matching Chewey's price, which just went up to $22.22, I'd grab this now, before the price goes up. Potentially $17.59 with Subscribe & Save, if you have 5+ items in this month's S&S shipment.

For those who own a larger aquarium or multiple ones, and have never used this kind of water changer, I can't stress enough how wonderful having one of these are. I currently have the similar Python, and held off on buying it for years because of the cost (normally $40-50), until finally giving in 2 years ago. Now, I can't imagine having to do my water changes without it. No more lugging heavy water! My back loves these!

Treat for the full volume of the tank no matter how much water is added, fill with tap water until tank is full. The end.

If you have a aquarium you have to have one of these. Makes cleaning the aquarium sooo much easier. I have the python brand one and hook it up to a garden hose to use the aquarium water on the plants outside.

As I went from 20 -> 40 -> 75 -> 150g over the years I found this method increasingly necessary. Now that I've sold everything and downsized again, no longer, but even 29g + absolutely invest in this.

I will mention I first tried this one, and was unsatisfied with the quality, the faucet attachment in particular, that did not have a great seal. Would wobble and spray a little around the edges. Returned it for the python brand which has a brass connection more solid, better overall quality. Also bigger softer tubing, that had greater suction power, would dry out the inside of the tube much more completely. Ofc ymmv lots of ppl happy with both.

I've seen these and considered, but how do you condition the water if it is coming straight from the tap? I have very chlorinated water where I live.

You add the conditioner straight to the tank before starting to fill up.

I always dripped into the stream as it poured into the tank.. Depends on how chlorinated we're talking.. some municipalities are really off the charts, like make your eyes blurry, bleach your towels off the charts.

In that case it might be a problem, IDK might HAVE to premix. Was never a problem for me.

I guess it depends how much water you are changing.

I change only 5 gallon per water change and pre treat the water in bucket before I transfer to tank. Obviously this works for me since I have bucket as buffer and not straight from tap.

It's a game changer, no pun intended. It really makes the hobby so much more enjoyable. Single best tool.

For under $10 you can also just buy a piece of tubing in desired length. Fill with water and hold your finger over the end. Put the one end into the aquarium and let the other end drain out into whatever you are putting the water in. Or that is how I do it at least...just use a spare piece of tubing from my water softener that I had sitting around.

Thanks Op - been too cheap to but one of these and doing bucket changes. Look forward to cleaning getting easier.

I have a water softener on my house which removed the bulk of minerals and excess chlorine. To the point where the chemical treatments would actually cause more problems than they were solving so I stopped using them. reduced my instance of algea blooms and other imbalances by 75%.

That works too, but only for smaller tanks. I remove and fill over 150 gallons. That'd be a ton of unessary work for me.
