Does anyone own one of these? How well do they actually work? I have a normal sized driveway with a bit of a slope.

Hmmm so worth it to pay $180 more for new and better warranty?

What is the normal cost of this refurbished? I know they've had it available for a long time but can't seem to remember what the standard pricing is for this unit, just trying to gauge if this is a good sale or not.

Here in the Chicago suburbs, I suspect that this would make a good 2nd blower for lighter, dryer, snows. Inclined to stick with my 10 year old "big muchacho" gas Craftsman blower for the truly heavy wet stuff. Still, a good deal.

Note: This includes 2 batteries and a rapid charger (cool), but they are the 5.0ah versions, not the phatty 7.5 you typically get with the lawn mower. (no big deal, just noting this for y'all.)

I guess technically the batteries alone could be worth $200 each.

$650 at Home Depot. A bit over $200 off. Shorter warranty though.

meh since theyre reconditioned probably not that much, i looked on ebay, looked like they were selling for $130-150. I was thinking about selling both batteries and seeing how much just the blower would come out to. but was still over $200 probably. not really worth it for me, we have a small driveway.

420 is the regular price for refurbs, it just keeps going in and out of stock.

The normal price for a New unit is $599. I know these are available almost year round at refurbished prices just never took note of those prices as I was eyeing a new one - just trying to figure out of this is actually a deal or if this is every day pricing for the reconditioned unit.

Edit: Thanks Peccadillo!

Ah, my mistake. The refurbs usually are around this price but they go out of stock as the snow season gets closer. So far HD hasn't dropped the price on any of the Ego refurbs that I've been watching. Just the new tools that go on sale. That being said for 2 5ah batteries I jumped on this deal.

If you look at Home Depot's website they are $650 now which matches my store price. I haven't seen them around here for less than that available to order and I've been watching for last year. Maybe some very ymmv local clearance went lower but nothing in the Midwest near me.

Edit I was wrong looks like Ace hardware has them for $599. I didn't realize Ace sold ego tools.

When these are 'reconditioned' is it the unit that's reconditioned or everything including the batteries? Tried reading the description but it doesn't specify.

Since Military Discounts don't apply to online purchases, those eligible can go into the store and speak to the customer service desk and they can order this for you through their "Order Up" system. Just provide them with the Internet # and they'll be able to place the order for you, and apply your discount. Although it's an extra step, not a ton of work to save $41.99. Hope this helps!
