This was 550 before but newegg is a much better seller this time.

The Ryzen 5 3500U version has also been on sale for a little cheaper. Going from the 3500U to the 3700U the main thing you're getting is additional GPU power, which is quite significant for an integrated laptop gpu. The CPU upgrade is less of an increase between models, so if you don't need the gpu, the 3500u model might be a good option.

The 3700U I believe has the best laptop igpu there is right now, and this is one of the best implementations for that processor. It can play Overwatch in 1080/60/medium settings fine, for example. Plus it's a thinkpad. A great laptop imo. I would add ram.

If you like the ryzen processor but have slightly different wants, check out the current Lenovo Flex 14, a 2 in 1. The 3700u version was on sale recently for 476 from lenovo. com but is out of stock for now.

Lenovo is very aggressive in the Laptop market, they got products for every level of usage. They clearly want to dominate this area, and I'd say they are doing a pretty good job at it.

Can buy this through eBay with Newegg as seller, same price plus 10% eBay bucks deal.

But no touch-screen, correct? That kills it for me. Search goes on...(this is what I want though).

Do you know if there is a difference in battery life between the 3500u and 3700u? I had gotten a 3500u Lenovo Flex 14, but returned it due to the fact that I was getting 4-5 hrs max.

I've just been shopping for a similar device; I'd be interested to know too. And if the Intel versions have any difference in battery. There are very few reviews. Did 4-5hr on the flex include some gpu time/gaming?

I got 4-5 hours with basic web browsing and streaming, did not use the gpu outside of that. My assumption would be it would be even worse if I had done so. Doing more intensive tasks like running VMs definitely brought that number down.

From all the info I have seen, the intel machines are better optimized for battery and temps by and large. The trade off is that AMD chips have much better GPU performance.

I personally don't plan on using my machine for gaming, so I've been thinking a lot about just waiting for a deal on something with an i5. That being said, I really like the upgrade options on this machine, and the fact that it has USB-C charging could be a potential solution to the battery life issue. The flex didn't have that option.

If these mobile laptop ryzen igpu's act similarly to the desktop versions, 8gb is not going to be enough if you're going to use this for gaming. Hopefully this can be upgraded to at least 16gb because the igpu is gonna be sharing the 8gb of RAM with the system memory and 8gb is simply not going to be optimal.
