Picked one up yesterday and saw many more stores today marked down as the day goes on. This is the 2nd clearance markdown and around the time of the year Walmart brings their new stuff in so expect other stores to markdown soon. Good Luck!

You can report any unscrupulous Walmart employee to Walmart corporate, and Walmart corporate will investigate. Give Walmart corporate the employee's full name and the store's address using the following link:

https://corporate.walmart.com/sto...e-feedback

I was able to get a clearance laptop this way last time. See below. Let the Walmart corporate and their asset protection team take care of it. Don't waste time arguing with any unscrupulous Walmart employee at the store because they will never get the item for you if they want item for themselves. The item is locked in a cage and not something you can walk in, grab it yourself, and pay for it. Good luck Stick Out Tongue

HP Warranty Update
This goes for anyone who bought one of the HP's - if the Warranty is showing expired on their site and in their support app there is a link to dispute the warranty status. Submit the form and attach a picture of your receipt and they will correct the warranty status to start from the day you purchased it.

I did this for mine, just took a picture of the receipt which showed the model and serial number and I had an email confirmation within a couple hours and now have a full warranty.

Link to instructions from their site - https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05084516

I've been searching for omen or msi in every wallmart through over 600 miles. When i finally came to one where msi supposed to be 2 in stock, they told me that there is none, but that they still have omen 15.6'. I was suprised because that was the hardest one to get. I bought new one, not from display. I came back to hotel, and guess what... they sold me other version for the same price!
Now i have the one with only 256ssd (no 1tb hdd) but with 144hz screen Wink

I work at Walmart and I scanned the clearance laptops and the cyberpower desktop. Prices are set to drop again the week of October 12 for any remaining models.
Let's see if you are a nice and knowledgeable Walmart employee Stick Out Tongue Does the stock count drop by one when someone puts an item on the layaway? Thanks hug

Thanks, OP, put Omen 15 on layaway at one of my local stores during my lunch break.

I don't understand one particular thing about layaway though in the current edition of the rules.
So I put 20% down for this Omen 15. Let's say I find a better deal down the road and decide I don't need this Omen 15 anymore. Rules say that in all states except (OH, MD, RI, DC, AL and NC) 20% down payment will be lost (effectively becoming a fine for a cancelled layaway).
However, it says all return policies apply to layaway items.

That said, why anyone would cancel layaway and lose 20% of an expensive item instead of just buying it on any credit card and returning 5 minutes later at the customer service desk? Or will 20% be still charged (so the refund value will be 80% of the purchase price?)
Don't cancel the layaway if you no longer need it. Pay off and pick it up. Then return it at the customer service desk. The cancellation fee is for those who can't afford to pay it off and have to cancel.

so you had to tell them about the price being lower now?
Yes... i advised i was picking up and they said ok price difference is $800+. I then told them it was now $600 which triggered all the adjustments.

So I hate the look of the case on CyberpowerPC. Is it possible to buy this and then buy a nicer case and switch all the internals? How difficult would this be? I'm not really comfortable building an entire computer but feel like I would be able to unscrew all the components and screw them into another case. Any thoughts? Thank you.

And btw the price isn't dropping any further. Do you know why? Because they're sold out... Doh!!
Oh really? Is that why guns in New Mexico Walmarts are still dropping in price, even after they've stopped selling all guns and have been shipped back to manufacturers?

Bullshit!

They only go for $1000 new on eBay [ebay.com]. The best you could have done with three is $600 profit without factoring in tax.
He might have meant he made $1000 from selling all 3, so only $334/ea.

Not really. The worst value by far out of the bunch.

Yes it is. I have done it a few times. Just tell the marked down store you bought it on one card and would like to rebuy using a different card because of extra warranty on the other card, lower interest on the other card etc. Of course you need 2 cards to do this
That does not work. At least not all of the time. Last time I tried this the gal saw the big price difference and sold it back to me on a different card for the price I had originally paid. So yeah, I was pissed. Had to try 2 other stores to get the price adjusted. At that one I just told them the truth. She took a deep breath and allowed me to keep the computer and refunded me the difference. It's getting harder and harder to get these YMMV deals at Walmart.

I don't think I could disagree with this comment more regarding the MSI. I surveyed my VIP pricing at lenovo and dell, along with all the major retail outlets, and couldn't find a computer with the same specs within $300. There is an HP that is almost the same with $200, but it has a 60 hz screen vs the 120 on the MSI, and a 1050ti instead of the 1060. At $799 the MSI is a steal. Not to mention the build quality is far and away better than anything remotely close to it price wise. Very nice, stiff "steelseries" RGB keyboard, 350 nit screen, pretty stiff chassis overall. It makes the dell G3 and HP omen look like preeschool toys. Serisouly, the walmart near me had one on display next to a simlarly priced hp omen and it was laughable how crappy the build quality was on the HP. More screen flex than I have ever seen, ever, and terribly dim. Keyboard flex so bad you could feel the bottom of the keyboard bottom out on the chassis. Just junk. The MSI is 55% off it list price and about 25% off its normal sale price. It is a slickdeal for sure.

I got the Overpowered Laptop earlier this year. Considering the desktop shown here, would the i7-8700 desktop CPU be significantly faster than what I have now, the i7-8750H. It has the same GPU and less RAM, which I do hit the limit on while doing video editing so would likely have to bump that up. Just curious if the higher power CPU will make a difference with being a desktop vs laptop. Don't use it for gaming, but video and photo editing. TIA.

OVERPOWERED Gaming Laptop 17" 144Hz, Intel i7-8750H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, Mechanical LED Keyboard, 256 SSD, 2TB HDD, 32GB RAM,

Any GTX 1060 laptop is not a great deal for $800. Not at this point where the 10 series are not longer the most recent gen.

Its on OK deal for someone who needs one now, and its a 60 hertz screen on the MSI, not 120.

Plenty of similar spec laptops have been posted on SD over the past few months for $700-900.

It is, without a shadow of a doubt, the worst value by far out of the current crop of clearance laptops at Walmart.

I mean come on guy, the HP Omen 17 with the 120 hertz G Sync screen and GTX 1070 cost the same....
