Picked one up yesterday and saw many more stores today marked down as the day goes on. This is the 2nd clearance markdown and around the time of the year Walmart brings their new stuff in so expect other stores to markdown soon. Good Luck!

You can report any unscrupulous Walmart employee to Walmart corporate, and Walmart corporate will investigate. Give Walmart corporate the employee's full name and the store's address using the following link:

https://corporate.walmart.com/sto...e-feedback

I was able to get a clearance laptop this way last time. See below. Let the Walmart corporate and their asset protection team take care of it. Don't waste time arguing with any unscrupulous Walmart employee at the store because they will never get the item for you if they want item for themselves. The item is locked in a cage and not something you can walk in, grab it yourself, and pay for it. Good luck Stick Out Tongue

HP Warranty Update
This goes for anyone who bought one of the HP's - if the Warranty is showing expired on their site and in their support app there is a link to dispute the warranty status. Submit the form and attach a picture of your receipt and they will correct the warranty status to start from the day you purchased it.

I did this for mine, just took a picture of the receipt which showed the model and serial number and I had an email confirmation within a couple hours and now have a full warranty.

Link to instructions from their site - https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05084516

So, I did the buy first ask questions later slickdeals methodology. My local Walmart supposedly had a couple things available. When I got there, the $399 15-cx0058wm was there and the $799 MSI GP63 Leopard-077. So I picked up the MSI.

Now on to whether I want it, or return it. I'm looking for a laptop to do Unity development on, I've been limping by on a Lenovo T430! (Although the T430 does have 16GB of memory and a couple SSD drives in it) I know the MSI will be much faster and much much faster in terms of graphics. The question is whether it is a good deal at this price point or wait for black Friday deals. I am reluctant to go the desktop route because I hate being chained to a desk.

Thoughts?.
$800 for a GTX 1060 laptop is hardly what I would call a deal.

Thats about what it is worth.

What are you talking about? it doesnt follow nomenclature? uhhh

1650 > 1660 > 1660 Ti > RTX 2060 > RTX 2060 Super > etc....
You conveniently left out the 10 series in your comparison. 1070 ti > 1660

I dont think you understand....

The 10 series are "Pascal" generation.

The 16/20 series are "Turing" generation.

The nomenclature for pascal is as such:

1030 > 1050 > 1050 ti > 1060 > 1070 > 1070 Ti > 1080 > 1080 Ti

The nomenclature for Turing is:

1650 > 1660 > 1660 Ti > RTX 2060 > 2060 Super > 2070, etc...

Yup.

Now, that one with the 1070 and the 17" 120 Hz screen for $800, that's a deal. The 1070 is still in the upper echelons of laptop cards and only like 10% slower than its desktop counterpart.

So it seems there are many early people downvoting the post which is expected. These will drop in price soon though so have some patience. Wednesday is the markdown usually for most stores and I contemplated posting later when more stores markdown, but people with brickseek premium are already scooping these ups so that's why I did it now. Walmart already have new models coming in so these will go out. Hard to impress the SD folks when you give them an early heads up..
They're thumbing it down like any YMMV deal. Less competition before this triggers more people's alerts.

Why let SD'ers know about something YOU and I pay for? Makes a whole lot of sense

What a business. Customer orders item for same-day pickup, underpaid employee sees the price and keeps it for himself, cancels order. Gotta love Wally!!!
Ughhh or his first mistake was trying to do instore pickup on a clearance item. Never works..

It's only a mistake for Walmart and alike and it's so because of what I said. Good businesses don't care if you are doing store pickup for clearance items

Why not? What do you want me to do next time, pm you only? I only needed one and got one. Some people actually need these, so why let the resellers scoop them all up.
