Every other laptop I've owned doesn't like when I have 1000 tabs opened so I'd like someone that can accommodate.
Regarding multiple Chrome tabs opened, have you tried the extension called The Great Suspender or something similar? I am using an old Dell Latitude with Intel Core i5-520M and 12 GB RAM. I have no problem with more 1000 Chrome tabs opened. I usually have about 1200-1300 tabs opened.

You can also use Chrome Task Manager to pinpoint which tabs take up all the resources and troubleshoot from there. Multiple tabs slow down is usually caused by limited available memory, so the first step is to add more memory Stick Out Tongue

Anyone ordered gotten shipped email? Just checked OVP and ship date got pushed back a week. First time ordering laptop from lenovo... Been reading scary delay shipping stories. Is this norm? I'm not hurting to get the laptop quick but the anticipation is killing me... Plus reading the ship date got pushed back isn't helping. Smilie

This is considered prebuilt, in stock model right? And not a custom build?

How am I a jackass? he said I'm a trump supporter so i would assume he is a clinton supporter.

I'm just explaining that in the corporate environment there certain things that people look at.
If I told him to wear a suit to a manager interview, he would call me a elitist prick?

Thats fine then. go wear that tshirt that say "Legalize Weed" and your creative sneakers to the job interview.
Dude, the logo is a little jazzy. This is America; just bring it in on dressdown Fridays and show some balls in your jeans.. jeez wat a wuss. you sound like you're hanging out with the queen of England. revolution baby ...

So, I'm new here. Can you 'point me in the right direction' for the perks site? I'm guessing it's not Rakuten?

Should mention warranty in post. It's only a 1 year basic depot.

Man, there was this one eBayer in Michigan who sold me 4 TP's w/ i5 4 years ago for 400-500, that had 3 year on site support. I never could comprehend how he made money, but what a deal! Trust me, those extended warranties are needed on TP's, I've had displays die, MoBos go out, USB ports fried, and everytime they came to my home.
Other than my SD card reader not operating after a couple years, my T510 has functioned without flaw or hiccups since May 2010, and it's powered on 24x7.

1. Google "Lenovo Perks at work"
2. Register with your work email, in my case I used my edu email and the system let me register even though it cannot find my employee.
3. Once registered, login in and search "Lenovo"
4. Wait for redirection then shop as usual.
5. Checkout with Discover via Paypal.
6. I don't know how to do this but if you can you can save an extra $100. Register retail me not, then manage to shop via the link to Perks at Work.

It looks like THINKFALL5 is not working with Perks At Work. Do we have any other coupons that are active?

Yupe I am (the trump part but not the poor people part). you are probably a clinton supporter that never held a job in critical corporate or life/death related systems. Nor go into important Exec meetings.

You go to high level meetings and show up with a gaming laptop or some hipster stickers on your laptop. Kiss your chance of future promotions or projects. There are people that take things dead seriously and pays attention to minute details about people and will judge base on those and other details.

The logo on all the laptops are kinda mild now to be honest. I just got the HP omen and it's pretty easy on the eyes. If anything, they might think they paying you too much if you rock up with a 2k gaming laptop, hahaha.

This is alot of money for a laptop if you look at the other laptop deals floating around. But this is a good deal for what you are getting in terms of reliability, build quality and components.

Since this is for "business" I would get this as last thing I want to do is have my system break down and lose half a days of work trying to fix it or worst have it shipped back. From that perspective time is money.

Though for "interior design" if you meet clients that are the creative types this might not be the best look perhaps an Apple.
Man its scary to think you are making life and death decisions based on such superficial stereotypical memes about people with certain laptop types. I'd question your own evaluation abilities but the the Dunning–Kruger effect is definitely a real thing....

Was tempted to get the P1 gen2, but it doesn't offer the OLED display, less Ram and SSD. Is the OLED on the P53 noticeably better than the 4k IPS display on the P1?

In my research to help me determine if I should get the OLED on the P53, I've read there are banding issues that would be a no-go for me. I've also read this is only Lenovo's 2nd time to the OLED-on-a laptop-rodeo, the first one resulted in short lives for the 1st OLED screens. I will pass on a Lenovo OLED for now. But you could always buy a great warranty for an extended timeframe and roll them dices. Also one reviewer mentioned OLED is tough on the eyes for white backgrounds for long periods of time. YMMV.
