What's the best container to get maximum surface area exposure when using to deodorize the fridge/freezer? I figure an open jar wouldn't be ideal since only the top is exposed.
Cookie baking sheet.

Put a cooling rack on top so you can store stuff on top of it

Most grocery stores have baking soda for $.50/lb. Granted it's not arm and hammer branded, but just adding the note.

great for killing moss on roofs, sidewalks, driveways. Even lawns, just don't overdo it.

cheap, and "natural"

Just FYI Costco has the 13.5 pound bag for $6.49...
Thanks. Baking Soda lasts awhile so it might be something worth bulking up on.

Do people use this in a laundry or is it just to keep it in a jar in the refrigerator?
I haven't seen much difference in washing when using it in laundry, but I haven't paid too much attention to it either to critically evaluate.
An additional item to clean using baking soda is dishwashers. Pour so on the bottom and run without anything else (no detergent and no dishes) to clean inside of dishwasher.

White vinegar in a cup on top shelf is also used by itself to clean dishwashers.

Not sure I want a loose plate of powder sitting in my fridge.

I always get baking soda from Costco (13.5 lb) bag. Use it for litter box, laundry, counter spray cleaner, jewelry cleaner, toothpaste, fixing battery corrosion in electronics, oven cleaner, so many usage.

One of those item, always have it around the house.

Yeah...I have used a cup of vinegar to clean dishwashers. Never used baking soda, but both together should also work well
