Yeah...I have used a cup of vinegar to clean dishwashers. Never used baking soda, but both together should also work well
Even in all metal dishwashers?… The all natural seventh generation dishwasher powder doesn't get rid of the egg smells

The internal of my dishwasher is metal. And I have used vinegar to run a cycle for cleaning without any trouble thus far

Do people use this in a laundry or is it just to keep it in a jar in the refrigerator?
I haven't seen much difference in washing when using it in laundry, but I haven't paid too much attention to it either to critically evaluate.
It's good for washing up counters, fixtures, bathtubs, etc. It's scratch free but still abrasive enough. It's good for laundry. It's good for baking. And most importantly: it's good for dissolving in water to soak fruits and vegetables to remove pesticides and herbicides.

I fell for this Amazon "deal" once, but never again.
If you need less, Target [target.com] has 3.5lbs for $2.49 regular price, and if you need more, then the local Walmart has had 12 lbs bags of Arm&Hammer baking soda for only $5 on clearance for the past couple of months. Found the bags in the garden clearance area, and today they are still available in Northern CA.

Is this cheap for a pool? I will need to drain and refill this winter and I know I need a bunch of this but don't remember how much it costs at pool stores
You're better off getting washing soda aka sodium carbonate. It's the concentrated version.

Thanks for the additional options!

I'm probably not the only one in such a boat... I don't purchase much from Amazon and don't have Prime. So a reasonably-priced, long-lasting staple can help to reach the $25 free ship or to reach the rare 5 S&S. Additionally, some of us don't have automobiles or have other brick and mortar hinderances. As for warehouse pricing previously mentioned, of course some of us don't have membership. This baking soda was a slick deal for me Smilie
