I got a couple bikes with bike bags attached to the bike rack and I just leave the locks in them. I got lots of bike locks including onguard bulldog standard u-lock, kryptonite NY standard u-lock & NY Noose chain and abus chain with Abus discus padlock. I am always looking at smaller lighter locks but I won't sacrifice security for portability. The folding locks are interesting but can easily be defeated. I think this mini u-lock is the best balance of security and portability. I never had a mini u-lock but I have been happy with my standard onguard bulldog u-lock (13mm). This mini u-lock has smaller shackle which is better against leverage attacks and it's stronger at 14mm. Trying to find smaller locks as space is limited in my bike bag. It is probably lighter too. I ordered it........ It also comes with cable to protect the rear and front wheels and that is like $9.

Perfect. Reading the reviews on that lock I see that the 20-year-old Kryptonite can now be defeated in 2019 by a Bic pen. My how we've advanced our technology. lol

Now I just need a sweet deal on a killer helmet. Maybe a better set of peddles and a saddle.

Maybe like 15 years ago, there was an issue where some bic pen could open a Kryptonite lock but that was fixed quickly. I got 2 Krytonites locks (NY standard u-lock and NY Noose chain lock) and no pen is gonna open them. The only tools that can defeat them are angle grinder or cutting torch. A loose NY Noose chain is difficult and very dangerous to cut with an angle grinder (blade can break and cut the thief) but the problem for me is the 6.75 pounds weight. I don't use the NY noose chain anymore. It is a beast though and very strong lock........ I ordered the Onguard mini u-lock. It is more reasonable for my bikes and I am in pretty safe suburb and not high theft NYC.

Bike helmet? I paid $22.49 for the Giro helmet at Dicks a couple months ago. Solid helmet and it goes on sale quite a bit with Dicks.
Peddles? Mzyrh pedals are awesome. I paid the regular $24.99 price and it was well worth it. 4.8 out of 5 rating.... The stock pedals that come with bikes are trash. Day 1 must purchase upgrade. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

It's an old lock from the 90's so... probably not worth the risk.

I don't shop Dick's. Personal reasons. I'll look into Giro though. I test rode a Trek at Scheels and they had a cool helmet with a magnetic latch and turning adjustment. I don't know much about helmets but that may be something I'd be interested in and I doubt Scheels is going to pay extra for something customers don't need other than safety. I don't need a bright lime green mohawk or anything extra like that. I'm very un-extra.

I think I have a set of Mzyrh peddles in my wish list for Amazon already. I read they were good and inexpensive elsewhere compared to included peddles in most cases. Is there any difference or just order the $25 Mzyrh ones and call it a day?

I may also need to find an inexpensive and comfortable seat (saddle?) for my wife. I ordered unisex bikes so we'll see how "unisex" that seat is when they arrive but I have a feeling she'll want something else. We're not serious bikers and she'll want something cushy, plush and soft.

The differences between them are the colors. You could wait and try the cheap plastic pedals but I find them to be small, less durable, provide less grip and have an ugly cheap look. My bikes look so fancy & sweet and they give you these lame cheap looking pedals. Looks odd. They assume lot of people automatically upgrade their pedals so they give cheap plastic pedals. The Mzryh pedals fixes all that and are cheap at $25.

Confirms what I was guessing. No others to consider in the same price range? Pretty much anyone who needs/wants peddles should just order the Mzryh and call it a day?

I have the RockBros Lightweight Mountain Bike Pedals Nylon too on my hybrid bike. They are nice too but for a mountain bike, I prefer the metal Mzryh. For a hybrid, the myzryh may look too big and "aggressive" so the Rockbros may be a better choice as it is a little bit more conservative looking. Both are good though. Edge to Myzrh for mountain biking though. I would just order the Myzrh because I don't see a solid good quality pedals be given out.

Thanks for the good information! It won't let me add more than 4pts to your reputation score but I'll add more once the system lets me. Peace
