Trying to figure out same thing. Seems like general consensus is that sports loop is comfortable but doesn't look as professional and also the nylon can absorb sweat during workouts (but can be cleaned if you wash it with mild soap and let it dry). Sport band is good for workout, but you can't get it to be perfectly tight and also can get slippery if you are sweating.
Just got mine today and IMO the sport band looks much nicer but the sport loop (I got some aftermarket ones) is definitely more comfortable so I'm going to be using that the majority of the time.

PM'd at Best Buy. Also had $5 reward and 10% birthday coupon that all stacked. Thanks OP!

From what I've heard series 4 might still suffer from the expanded battery problem but I haven't seen a lot of confirmation. Series 3 definitely suffers from that defect.
I had a Series 2 that was replaced under warranty and which I promptly sold and got back what I paid for it. I'm on the fence for a Series 4 but can't see spending over $300. Does series 4 still have the screen popoff "feature"?

Wouldn't Apple replace it under warranty if it's a known defect?

Like I said, they did for me but it didn't make me feel good about it and living without your smart watch for a week when its part of daily activity is not worth it given the cost.
Apple can also be dodgy about fixing problems with open warranty programs like with my iPhone 7.
FWIW, a google search doesn't show many reports past Series 3 so it looks like Series 4 doesn't suffer from this defect. I'll keep an eye out when it goes below $300 for 40 or 44 mm.

Ya. Makes sense. I could probably live without the smart watch for a week but to each their own! The battery thing happened to my wife with her series 1. We thought it had been bumped hard on the plane until someone mentioned it was a known defect. Apple Store fixed it with no questions asked.

Mine just shipped and will be here tomorrow. I was planning on it dropping $100 anyway after the announcement of the 5, so this price was what I was looking to pay. I'm happy with the purchase.

The 44mm + cellular is $379.99 at Best Buy right now, however, only in space grey.
