Looks like this is included in Amazon's "Great on Kindle" promotion. I got a 50-cent credit toward a future Kindle book purchase, which makes this deal even more slick.

Would love to see Grant or Hamilton at this price, but Washington will do!!

Also, it's really been great to parlay these "Great on Kindle" promos. I've gotten about 10 good books for the price of 1 by just buying one book and then getting enough promo credit for another and so on.

Great! Thanks for the post... Good way to use a slow-ship credit and love Chernow's writing style...

This book is incredible, but it's also huge. The audiobook is like 40 hours. Be prepared to invest some time.

I'm two thirds of the way through Grant; what a life that man lived. Pretty much saved the country twice once by leading the North to victory, then by saving Reconstruction. Amazing book, just very information dense. History needs to be your cup of tea to enjoy it, though.

Great book. Highly recommended. I've read this and Hamilton. Both are among the top 5 nonfiction books I've ever read.

As a History buff, I read A LOT and this author is a hack. He does present some facts but his progressive agenda seems to always come through to me. I would rather just read History as it was vs as it was + how we "SHOULD" see it today
