Please be more selective posting these AAFES deals, that's one place we should be a little more respectful of.

When people order this stuff online this takes an item out of a retail B&M AAFES base store.
They then have to ship this, a bike, from all over the US tax free and free shipping. How much do you think it costs a tiny base store to ship a bike?
A hell of a lot more than amazon, I can assure you.

They are typically one of the top employers for wives (and now husbands) of military so let's allow them the nice slow B&M death they deserve

....and not Shop Your Way Max execution this site gave Sears.
Wrong and completely wrong.

1. Most AAFES website deals are sent directly from warehouse or vendor. It's not some housewives packing inside a base PX.

2. AAFES is now open to veterans because they are trying to increase their customer base. CEO of AAFES did this to increase their profit. If anything, deals like this is increasing utilization and traffic to AAFES website, contributing to their profit.

And yes the introduction of the website and marketing to promote it to veterans increased overall sales. I was simply pointing out a detriment to sales. Simply increasing gross profit does nothing of expenses go right up with it.

The CEO's plan wasn't to have have some eBay reseller ordering huge quantities.

And yes they come from stores. I bought 2 dopp kits before and one came from Fort Bragg and the other came from a completely different base.
Look up the definition of the word "most".

Whether it's sold to resellers or veteran, AAFES profits. Your fake outrage is completely baseless.

Most AAFES B&M prices are slightly higher than online. Thats fact.

Most AAFES B&M stores are near desolate places so they really don't have enough customers.

No one likes a back seat driver. I order online because the nearest AAFES B&M store is 60+ miles away. No way am I doing that drive.

I'm not military, but a co-worker is, so I'm going to ask her tomorrow.

Will it be very difficult for her to sign-up (if she hasn't used ShopMyExchange.com)?

And they take CC payment?

Thanks in advance for any Replies 👍👏

..... TU and Rep'd 😉

All good until you said profit, they are a non-profit in the sense they mission is not to make a a profit like Walmart. They give money to base rec services to improve quality of life for the families.

Non-profit does not mean it's giving away all its money to benefit others. Sure, some are used for MWR, but most goes to employee salary and bonus. I'm sure the executives are getting a sizable bonus while housewives barely make a minimum wage.

AAFES is not a charity organization.
