Sennheiser HD 599 SE - $129.95 + tax/shipping @ Amazon.com

I was looking for some good headphones and had been spying the HD599. These HD599 SE popped up for 199.99 at first, then I noticed today that the price dropped significantly. I'm not sure what the difference is (besides color) between these and the normal HD 599. I'm not even sure exactly that this is a good deal. It looks decent though.

Color is the only change, though these just came out a few months ago.

They debuted at $99, then went back on sale for that price a few weeks later. Massively worth $130 still as they do compete with $200 range of cans.

I use mine exclusively with a Schiit stack for my vinyl.

According to ccc, there are 2 times 99.99 at Jul. It is the lowest price after prime day anyway.

They're out already [sennheiser.com]

Review1 [tomsguide.com]

Review2 [cnet.com]

Scratch that...coming out next month.

Rami Tabari, (Review 1), obviously forgot that the toe jam removal kit doubles as an ear wax removal device as well.

Are these wireless headphones comparable to wired ones when using wirelessly? In my experience, I've never heard a headphone sound as good connected wirelessly when compared to wired ( same model ).

from some of the info so far, it doesn't seem like an overall good upgrade for the 2.

These are among the most comfortable headphones ever made. Seriously, they're conformable for 12 hours straight.

I bought these ($99) and the fidelios($150) and ended up keeping the fidelios. Much better in every aspect including build quality etc. at a $50 difference it's a tough choice but at only $20 ($130 vs $150) I would go with the fidelios

How are you driving them? You should always qualify what you use to get a better picture of what is being compared.

doesn't matter they both have low impedance. I tried them with a gsx 1000 as well as (good) onboard

I find 30ohm vs 50ohm (these) noticeable when using a hybrid tube amp like my Vali 2.
