As an FYI, this is tri-ply base and not tri-ply clad. It only has a tri-ply base welded onto the bottom of the pan that does not extend up the sides.

I thought it was tri layer for the whole pan, not just the base. Sorry, not a good deal.

Yes, if you want hot spots. The one you listed for just $12 more, is definitely better. Thank you for listing the better one.

We have some of the tri-ply clad from this company, it's good stuff, I would pass on this for their clad, vs base ply only, basically a multi metal base.

We had another brand, a "Bam" kind of guy, base only, stuff buckled off, horrible smell between the bottom of the pan and the base. It's not welded on.

I think it had been leaking water, look like a mixture of grease, dishwater and I don't know what was in there. I just know it smelled worse than GYM socks.

Tramontina all clad heats well up the sides. It's very good value stuff.

I disagree that this is not a good deal, yes it is, if this is what you want.

Hell use over a camp fire for $12.00.

Their Tramontina 12-Inch Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Clad Saute Pan is listing st $27.99, down from $49.97. That's a good deal.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tramon...ected=true

If I had to pay full price for the above tri ply cad in 12 inch above I would, we did opt for a Matfer Bourgeat 62005 frying pan, 11 7/8-Inch, which hovers daily just under $50.00, just over $50 on Amazon, just wait a few hours, days.

Carbon steel cooks like cast-iron but with about half the weight. You have to season it and you can't put wine or tomato-based stuff in it for a long period, like seasoned cast iron the acid will remove the seasoning, but that is a nice pan. I wished I had known about this pan before. It cooks an egg like it's on glass.

Rest of our pans we are being replaced with Tramontina.

Reason for the pan watch.

Question for you since you seem very knowledgeable... my stove's largest heating element(its one of those coil tops) is only like 10". Would the tri-ply clad 12" heat up fine on my burner?
