Used and about half the sale price of the Ring Doorbell 2 from Costco.

This is a limited 90 day warranty where Costco deal gave 12 months protection plan.

Up to you which was a better deal.

The "something to hide" argument you put forth here is a huge red flag for not understanding the fundamentals of trading security for liberty.. if you can't appreciate that, you deserve what you get when the cops find some piece of information to bludgeon you with regardless of your actual guilt. There are countless examples of the police misinterpreting and/or abusing and/or mishandling such information.

Can't wait till Amazon gives these out for free as long as I let police view my footage or see it live anytime.

Buy one if you support amazon's shady police surveillance state cooperative that they intentionally hide from consumer ... (these things are toxic crap IMO)

I could use a flood light camera to go with my existing Ring security setup. I've already got a flood light that works fine. What are your thoughts on installing this doorbell as a more cost effective means of getting a camera on the back of my house?

You gotta buy trhe service which is going to run a bit more if yoiu have more than one camera.

I already have the $100/yr service so I was of the impression I can add numerous cameras for the same price.

Buy a Wyze camera and outdoor enclosure. Cheaper and no service fee.

Without subscription, can we access recordings? Let's say who rang the bell an hour ago if I miss the instant alert?

You are right, if all your Ring devices are at the same location they will all be covered.
