Google optimized Android to run very fast & efficient on this phone. Specs aren't everything.

Second hand market, you can get mint/new/like new condition phones for around $320-$350 so this is new with a full warranty. Overall seems like a decent price discount, not phenomenal, $100 off MSRP is decent.

Here is the previous Front Page thread for this device from this same seller, if anyone wishes to review member feedback from that deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/13323964

I'm still getting over my heartbreak of a very bad experience with the regular Pixel 3 XL. I loved my Pixel and Pixel 2 but the 3 XL lagged and froze like crazy, had a bad speaker, and had very flaky Bluetooth. It almost seems like the 3a variants actually have less complaints.

I'm writing this from a Note10 that I got with a trade in promo. It's way faster and the size is better but the in screen fingerprint reader is obnoxious and despite 3 cameras I would rather have the single camera from the Pixel 3 XL. I miss the cleaner interface from Pixel phones too.

What do people think? Are the Pixel 3a phones actually more reliable than the flagship 3s?

Yes, it's hard for me to whip out the Vaseline to this phone.

Not true. Even the higher priced pixel 3 xl slows down drastically after a period of usage. There are lots of complains and videos about this on YouTube. This pixel 3a has good cameras, but is definitely slow and will be!

Suggested alternatives? Using Total Wireless since VZW network is best around my area.

I cant use a OnePlus so that rules out 6 and 7, but any other suggestions?

I need a new phone and am still appalled at the high 3/3XL pricing, but like the freedom of a fairly bloat-free phone.

Thanks.

I have been watching this phone for a little bit, and plan to buy it but I might wait until the holidays. Best buy has had a decent price, depending on your carrier. I haven't went through the process but according to the website unlocked version activated on Sprint is $379 and activate it on Verizon is $429. I don't know why but I just don't feel comfortable buying through rakuten so if you're in the same boat and can't waitt, that's an option. still a little cheaper than retail

To be clear, you have to select unlocked and then activate it now to see that pricing

The 3a xl at $480 is too much, but at this price it really isn't a bad deal, as it is a great phone. If you want something very similar, look for a "sealed" google refurbished Pixel 2xl on ebay for about $220. It is similar to the 3a xl in terms of speed, function, etc, and still gets all the updates, at almost half the price. I got one last week and it looks brand new. Ordered a second.
