Looks like there is one black one at Amazon for $49.99. no GPS on this device though.
Garmin has launched "Connected GPS" for those devices that don't have onboard GPS , same like Fitbit. I recently read the article on dcrainmaker but am not sure if this particular device is supported for such feature.

If you work out vigorously or remove the band often I would not recommend this model. I own several of their fitness trackers and they all work great but this specific model does not offer interchangeable bands. Band is just silicone and tore within 9 months. Just something to keep in mind.

Got one of these on a previous deal. Has been good so far but just be careful with the charger as it is pretty fragile. I broke one of the locking tabs so it's a bit of a nuisance to charge now

This is way more discrete and will certainly require lies charging. And Garmin vs Xiaomi when it comes to warranty will be the better choice. Not saying the mi band is band, but this is a deal for people who want the Garmin, post that as a separate deal if you think it's good.
I can't speak for the warranty, but the Mi Band 4 only needs to charge every 20+ days. (Mi Band 3, which more comparable to this Garmin band, only needs every 30-40+ days). The Garmin band is rated for 5 days.

I don't think there's a wrong choice between the two, but I'd go with the Mi Band 4 for my needs. It does all the standard tracking stuff (calories, steps, distance, HR, exercises, etc.), text and other notifications from your phone, has a significantly better battery life and screen (the screen on the Garmin is awful, and the AMOLED on the MB4 is great and easy to read in sunlight), and it's cheaper (all the time, not just on sale), especially if you're willing to buy the Chinese version (which automatically converts to English when you set it up).

I have the Mi Band 4 and really like it. I do like the Garmin Connect software better although the Mi Fit will synch with Google Fit. As said, the screen is crystal clear on the Mi Band with nice splashes of color. I get about 3 weeks of battery usage before charging - the charging 'cradle' setup is a bit of a negative for the Mi Band.

My only gripe about the Mi Band is even with the largest font size I can find on all the many watch faces, I need my readers (yeah, I am 71 years old!) to see what is going on. I think for the money you can't go wrong with the Mi Band 4.

I had a Garmin watch like this and they went on and on about the battery lasting a year. The original battery did last a year and I was surprised, but that quickly fizzled out when the replacement battery only lasted 3 months and then the next battery only lasted 3 months. The batteries I bought were brand new and the correct name brand, they just weren't the crazy expensive ones that it had from the factory. I like the watch just don't like them trying to pull a fast one.

Seems to have build quality issues. Read reviews on Amazon.

Not trying to thread crap or anything just trying to get ppl to see another product. Search Amazon/another online retailer. Xiaomi mi band 4. Around 40 bucks and better display battery and so on. Plz don't ask for a link. Rdy for down votes... lol
I'm just looking for a heartrate monitor. The Xiaomi looks better for me. Thanks!

I guess it's the NYC bubble affect. Def don't see that problem here.
Not sure what you mean by that, but as of 2017, Utah has the lowest rate of childhood obesity among ages 10-17 (8.7%). You may not realize a particular child is obese, but it's an issue in your state, if not your city/county. https://www.stateofobesity.org/children1017/

I know this isn't the best place for this question but does anyone know what the best basic fitness band would be for in and out of water (running/swimming) tracking with sleep monitoring?

Maybe in the State as a whole but not much in NYC. I don't remember see a fat 7 years old to the point I think "that kid need a fitness tracker". Plus, you will get bully pretty damn hard for being overweight.

Most athletic kids I know love these things. They're just a watch but a little more fun.
