Yes, burn-in. If you are the only one using an OLED and you don't mind always keeping an ever-present watch about not leaving your tv paused, not playing video games with a HUD, not watching news, sports or finance TV that have logos, bars or scoreboards in consistent positions on the screen, then go for it. I for one, don't want to constantly be coaching my wife, kids, guests to follow these rules. Hell, I don't want to follow them myself.
i've had a B7A OLED since May2018 and have had zero issue with burn-in. family of 5, we watch movies (paused for 10-15min sometimes!), tv (netflix, sports, some news even), and play games on it (also paused at times)...no burn-in. the PQ is simply amazing and a pleasure to view...from any seat in the house with line of sight...

(not necessarily trying to convince anyone one way or the other here...but i do feel the OLED burn-in fears are exaggerated a bit...also from what I've come across it seems OLEDs have really come a long ways in this regard over the years...)

to be fair as to a potential downside, i did ask that we all start turning it off a little more often when not in use, as i read that over time (after some ten-thousands of hours use i think) that it can start to dim, progressively... personally not really all that worried about this either. sounds like by the time this starts to happen we'll likely be beyond ready to upgrade anyways (hope the 77" is $2K-$2.5K by then...one can wish right?)

Hate this about manufacturers they create the most convoluted model names to confuse the hell out of consumers so they don't know what they are buying.
That's so the stores can get out of price matching.

I probably just buy it from the store incase I need to return. Used to work for UPS and I know stuff gets thrown around all the times. Its a bit expensive to take the risk.

Am I missing something?!? Is there a reason why this wouldn't be a better deal. At least a guaranteed NIB 65Q80 at rakuten then at buydig. Really interested in purchasing but would like to know why the deal below doesnt have its own thread?

I passed on the Rakuten deals because they're a marketplace type seller - different sellers selling via Rakuten, and each has their own shipping/returns/warranty stipulations. If I buy a TV online (which I did) I only buy it if it's sold by the actual store and not a 3rd party. Plus I'm not sure these third party sellers are Samsung authorized resellers so forget warranty support.

I clearly said good TVs don't go on sale. An $640 50" is exactly is low end to mid tier BS that sells on BF.
Lol when the spec sheet and viewing experience matches most expensive TVs nowadays I cant say I agree with you..

But maybe you're having some buyer's remorse with that $2000 TV you're implying you have?

But your non-fald, non-120Hz, poor viewing angle, non-qled, 50" budget TV does not actually match the viewing experience of the Q80R in this deal.

I am not sure why you are trying to convince yourself that your budget TV was a good buy. I am glad you are happy with it, but it was cheap for a reason.

Smilie It is 120Hz, does have fald, viewing angles are surprisingly good, though it is not qled. I'm curious how you assume so much information?

Again, to each their own.
