Be careful because there are multiple links to sign up on the Fios website! I signed up for this deal the other day. Fios is saying I clicked the link for $200 gift card, not the link for $250 gift card. Chatted with 2 reps and spoke with 3 on the phone...haven't been able to get it changed! 😐

I'm paying $145 a month right now out of contract for gigabit internet and Preferred TV. Is there any way I could sign up for this? Any tricks?

Do you have a roommate or family in the house? I cancel every 2 years and put it into either my name or my wife's name to get new customer pricing. Some people use the move trick as well by setting up a transfer of service to their current address.

Fios sucks. They will jack your rates to the moon when your "test drive" ends. That is all.

Say you're moving to a location where there is no Fios service. They have to let you cancel without charging you the ETF. They may require proof of the move.

Yes, we're a family so there are other members who could sign up for service. But what do you mean by "transfer of service"? Could you give me more specifics on how I do that? Thank you.

Since you have family in the house, it's easier to cancel and switch service to their name.

This thread has info about the move trick.

I read through the thread but I'm still a little confused. A couple of quick questions if you don't mind:

1. If I go your route, i.e., cancel my service and then sign up with a different member name I don't have to use the move option. Right?

2. If I use the move option I just cancel my service and then sign up again with my own name or does it have to be a different person?

Right now this $80/month is actually close to $110-120 in disguise.
After you add equipment fees, wifi fees, taxes, franchise fees and other junk fees.

You forgot the fees fee.
