With pci 4 drives in the horizon, I wonder how much lower these will go for. I already have a Samsung Evo plus as main drive and a 2 tb secondary is appealing so as to never use a SATA cable again. It's also strange how new tech nvme is cheaper than SATA currently...

I was waiting for the same thing and it's been about 2 months and it's not penetrating the $175 barrier for this particular drive.

In July, this would be a fp deal. It's no longer getting that attention.

So you don't believe this is a great deal anymore? It's ok though right?

Yesterday it was $185 (I've been tracking for a price drop). So they put the price up $10 and a coupon to discount $20. Saving $10 and making it a deal.

Interesting seeing how internet marketing works.

I noticed the same thing since I've also been tracking it for a bit. I pulled the trigger today anyway since it's the lowest price for this drive it has been thus far, from what I gathered.

I believe they have sold these at $127 - 135 during one sale. The 2 TB version.

They always have sales to this price. And with tax, it comes to $190 so it's not even a great deal.
I've never seen this anywhere near that price.

I just ordered one too. As you say, not seen it cheaper and while we all know eventually it will be cheaper, I can use it today if I order today.

I bought it for 185 last week (used a $5.00 gift card) so it came to $180. Sucks I bought it at a higher price but I needed it at the time for a new PC. You can always wait for a cheaper price if you don't need it, but like you said if you keep waiting for a lower price you will be waiting forever.

I'm looking for a drive to put games on because I have a 500GB 860 EVO as my boot and am semi running out of space. Would this be good for that?

IMHO yes, I'm waiting for BF to buy one personally but this is probably as good a deal as you will get before then give or take $10.
