Hope this is a slick deal...I'm switching from Verizon to Xfinity and was shopping for Roku devices so I could skip the monthly set-top-box rental fee. Found the Roku Premiere+ at Walmart for $39.00. The Roku website is sold out of this model and Amazon has it for $85.46 (https://www.amazon.com/Roku-Premi...B01LXUZPQU). I received free shipping and handling (but I'm not positive whether that's because I bought 3 of them?) or you can pick up in store.

The model for sale at Walmart is the 3921 model which has 1x1:1 bgn wireless so it only supports up to 150Mbps when connected connected with 802.11n on 2.4GHz. This is basically a 2017 Roku Express with a voice remote and increased RAM/flash memory.

I personally prefer roku. I don't like the Amazon ecosystem and it's a pain just to even use the Amazon / prime channel to watch things vs the other channels. The firesticks are geared more towards staying on amazon for most things but the Roku is more universal .

Meh. I'd wait for ultra deals hopefully coming this bf. They were $50 last year @ Walmart and hardwired to ethernet.

Amazon and Google like to have slap fights and not play nice with each other's apps/devices. Roku is Switzerland and rolls past both of them, supporting just about everything and owning the US market. Plus, secret channels are easy to add.

Been on the firestick bandwagon... any advantages to roku over the firestick? Just generally curious.

just remember this is 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only. If your setup doesn't play well with that, you should get the stick version that is dual-band.

The amazon product you have referenced is wrong- This seems to be the correct one with same model number as referenced in Walmart website -> 3921RW . I believe Walmart has wrongly mentioned this as Premiere+ instead of Premier.

Yes, you are correct. This model seems to be a Walmart Exclusive one. I see this listed when I scroll down in Roku website below.
