There are "buttons" on the side of the watch that you can press with a toothpick or something small. The date button is on the same side of the crown at about 4 o'clock, and the day is on the opposite side at about 9. Each press will move the hands one day\date.

It's movement 40 in the manual. Starts on page 10. Apparently there's times of the day when we shouldn't push the side buttons.
