True enough but the funny thing is that the highest grossing tours are still mostly more traditional acts.

Sheeran dominates by tour revenue, and he plays a guitar.

Complete noobie here, how does this guitar compare to Yamaha Pacifica 112V now that they cost the same?

So Epiphone is not MADE by Gibson. Gibson owns Epiphone, but Epiphone has their own specific factory overseas. The title and description are misleading and innaccurate.

*EDIT* Title and description were changed. Original title claimed "Epiphone made by Gibson".
Some consider that a plus. I personally have owned both. You can't find a Gibson worth playing for under $1000.

My 2016 LP 50s Tribute had issues out of the box that should have been caught in Nashville.

My 3 Epis were pretty much gold out of the gate. 2 are Artist Signature models, but one is a gold top like these in post.

My epi LP 1960 tribute plus is a beast. I love it. Sustain for days. Fit, finish, craftsmanship, fretwork, fingerboard, Gibson USA 57 classic/classic plus, maple cap, everything was and is on point. And it's actually worth more now than when I bought it in 2014, which is ridiculous.
Gibson has had some issues in recent years and QC has been one of the big ones, but while that was happening Epi actually stepped up their QC and have been making much better products. This gave many pause for why they were paying 5-6x the price for an American made instrument with a headstock that's falls off ... I digress.

If your hangup on this deal is Epi, don't let it be. They make excellent guitars and have had a bit of a renaissance lately in my opinion. This deal is such that if you wanted to sell it you'd probably come close to getting all your money back without a sweat. Gold top or wine red for under $300* makes me think I'm talking myself into one as I type this.

So, so true.

My Epiphone Tommy Thayer White Lightning Les Paul with Seymour Duncan JB's and my Epi Tony Iommi SG with GIBSON TI signature pups are AMAZING guitars that will hold their value.
