By rtings, same year 2019, LG a bit better Sony on OLEDs.

I have no doubt the Sony is superior as they have a better processor tuning the image, but lets not get crazy with, "far superior"....

...the OLED panels in these SONY TVs are the same ones in LG because LG makes them all.

Better motion and better upscaling. I have a 55" e8 and my dad owns a 65" a1e. His is far superior to my e8 in my opinion. The Sony is much closer to plasma for motion than the e8.

This is a good deal. Wish this is the a9f at this price. There is a noticeable picture quality difference between X1 extreme vs X1 Ultimate to my eyes.

How is this compared to any of the LG OLEDs?

Overpriced. That's not an opinion held by people who have overpaid and defend though.

Sony has great upscaling and motion, but rtings rates the LG better. The LG get slightly brighter, the new ones have HDMI 2.1 and come at a better value. LG makes the panels themselves so they can be more competitive with the pricing.

I've got an e8 for sale then. Great price. Not even a month old. Let me know if you're interested soon though, so I can get this a8f.

55 is too small and I already own a 65in OLED. Guess you should have bought something you wanted in the first place.

Sony's pricing wasn't even competitive a month ago. Had the a8f been this price back then, I would have purchased this over the e8 at $350 less.

Dude, https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...eshold=0.1
You got dad issues or something? There is nothing "far superior" about this Sony. I have no clue why you feel so envious towards him.

Also you buying a 55in E8 for $1749 is totally on you. They have been cheaper multiple times far longer than a month ago.

Not very good at math, are ya? $1399 - $350 = $1049.

I have seen the RTings ratings. After seeing both, in person, with the same content, yes, Sony is superior to LG with regards to motion. If you are a majority sports watching person, I'd recommend the Sony.
