I don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with high refresh and response rate. These are ONLY important for FPS games. If YOU don't care for MULTIPLAYER FPS like call of duty, Fortnite, Apex legend, PUBG and Overwatch, then 60Hz, no Freesync/G-Sync, 5MS response is FINE. It's JUST FINE.

If YOU play things like Starcraft, Company of Heroes, Skyrim, Fallout, dont waste your money! Get a 60Hz 1440p basic monitor and be happy!

I played with 60hz for years and found the experience great with 1440p even on games like WOW and CSGO and that was when my response time was also 8ms. Just because you are a sheep to the bs marketing that you need more than 60 fps and need 1 ms response time to enjoy a game doesn't mean that we are the dumb ones here. Oh yeah and most 1ms response times are measured with GTG and not from Dot to Dot, so most 1 ms response times monitors are also falsely advertising how fast they really are.

Based on description SW240 sounds like it's designed for that

I just got the GW2480 last week. It's not a "photo editing" monitor by design, but based on Amazon reviews, I picked that one. Colors are great sofar, but I've not used it enough to give real input other than what I've read. Great brand, though.

can a 'refurb' monitor be sold with dead pixels? Can they even replace the screen, or do these generally just have the electronics fixed?

is the gw2480 the best overall monitor for the price ? Is this a smoking deal or lukewarm? Wait until BF?

I would recommend the SW series for photo editing. Do you have plans to calibrate the monitor? If so, I would definitely go that route.

I have a mid-2014 15" MacBook Pro. Wondering if I should get 2 of the GL2706PQ or one of the PD2700U monitors. Heck maybe just one of the GL2706PQ would do. I do some photo and video editing so it's probably better for me to get something that will benefit me in the long run.

I've been gaming on the 2706 for a while now. I really recommend it. Especially for $160
