Costco fan chiming in. Costco has a 40 pack of these for around $20. Is a 16-pack plus $16 worth of random office supplies for $16, better than a 40-pack for $20?? I'd probably just go with the 40-pack at Costco
If you are buying 40 batteries, why on earth wouldn't you get rechargeable batteries?LMAO

According to the Costco website today (9/20/2019):
Duracell AA, 40pk, $13.99
Kirkland AA , 48 pk, $15.99

Duracell AAA, 32 pk, $13.99
Kirkland AAA, 48 pk, $16.99

Be aware that in store prices can be different from website prices.

Before someone asks...

No, you cannot use rewards to pay and get rewards (they do not roll).

Rechargeable batteries are not included.

You cannot purchase gift cards with the rewards, so you'll have to buy something else with the rewards.
Last time when I returned items that I bought using my rewards, they issued me new gift card, not rewards.

So?

Were you able to buy a gift card with that or did you still end up with store credit?

The rewards are now locked to your card. Not sure what happens if you try to return something with them since you have to have them recorded on your card as a purchase to use them. Most likely you'll end up with negative spending and have to purchase something before new rewards accrue. Since I haven't tried returning anything I'm not sure but that is my best guess and if that happens, any "giftcard" you get which might be a merch card instead of a gift card which doesn't count for spending is in essence nothing more than unexpired store credit. Using it would at best get you back to even spending. If it's actually a merch card and not a gift card it won't even get you that.

In any case, you cannot purchase gift cards with rewards. I mean specifically you cannot cash out rewards by buying third party gift cards.

Thanks, but starting on 9/22 and going through 9/28, Office Depot Officemax will have the same batteries, but with 100% of pre-tax price paid back in rewards.

Wasn't trying to post a deal, someone earlier in the thread asked for the costco price.

But the rest of us are getting back the price of the batteries, plus an extra $26 to buy something else.

I understand you need to feel like you've got to justify paying for prime but honestly, I haven't found a way to get them to pay me more than I pay them.

So... You're saying the batteries are free and they give you 26 dollars to take them off their hands? If that's the case, then I need to jump on that bandwagon...

I don't need batteries to justify Prime, I use Amazon multiple times a week, and get free same day, one day, or two day shipping on a wide variety of products, most reasonably priced. Not to mention, I use Prime video and Prime music, and many other features.

I'm definitely not looking for a justification for having a Prime membership... It's self-justified. I assume that most people on this site have Prime memberships. Most people these days have Prime memberships, period.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. Probably too late for you to "jump on it" though.

In case us "primers" can still jump on the deal, how do you get your money back plus credit for the purchase on amazon? You get back more than you pay, correct?
