GameStop Gift Cards - 15% Off at Dollar General - Expires 9/21-YMMV

Saw this at Dollar General today. I didn't see it advertised in the weekly flyer, so maybe it is only in certain stores or regions. Sign said good for all but $10 GameStop gift cards. It worked on a variable load $200 GC for me.

I just went to Gamestop to purchase Netflix gift cards with the Gamestop gift card and it would not work. Did they now block all gift cards? I know they blocked gas cards and Amazon awhile ago.

What do you mean by variable load $200 GC? So it is a VS or MC?

Variable load Gamestop gift card. You pick the amount you want to put on it up to $500.

I was able to do it Online just last month, bought a Netflix GC with a GameStop GC. The netflix code showed up within minutes. Smallest Netflix cards are $30.

Thanks. It worked for me....I will be good for Netflix fees for quite awhile. It's too bad they blocked in store as there was more available. Just a couple of months ago it still worked in store when I bought Netflix and Kohls gift cards.

I had an old e-gift card that I printed out. At first the clerk couldn't get the transaction to go through. Luckily , I'd printed out the 'In-store redemption instructions' that came with the GC . He followed them and it worked (for Netflix).

1) Ring up Merch
2) Press Total (F12)
3) Select Manual GC (F6)
4) Select Run as Gift Card (F2)
5) Key in the GC dollar amount and press Enter
6) Key in the 19 digit GC # or scan the barcode
7) Key in the PIN
8) If purchase paid in full with the GC, then sale is complete.

I'm not sure, though I've heard Amazon, Gas and Visa cards are a definite No-Go, while some have had luck with Restaurant gift cards.

You can test them out online too. It'll either accept GC as a form of payment or it won't. And then you can still back out without completing the transaction with no problem.

With the way Gamestop is trending, I'd use those gift cards quickly.

+1 that, the market has changed and their business model (profiting from used games) is drying up due to digital. They have low debt load though so they may survive to the next console releases, then... they might get a burst of old hardware that they can resell but digital games are killing them.

That said, I'm still burning up trade credit as fast as I can, we got stung by TRU and I generally get nervous about all gift cards, though their financial situation is very very different.
