I love my mesh system. I have velop in a 3 story town home. I have ethernet throughout though so all my nodes are wired, regardless the switch from node to node is seamless. I have full signal everywhere (1 node per floor)

Google mesh has just one. Never mind, this one got just one port.

Quick question, can both port be used as output?

On velop? Yes on the slave nodes. Obv not for the main one. I have all mine hardwired (backhaul) so I have only 1 free for output on all nodes but if you wanted to, you could use both for outputs in wireless backhaul setup (which is really how the mesh systems were designed to be used)

This does exactly 100mbps max on wan port. Wifi can do lot more but you will be limited by wan port. MW6 supports more than 100mbps, and you can mesh mw3 and mw6 together.

So this would not be a good choice if you happen to have fiber internet, would it?

To be honest I have the mw6 and really regret it. Latest firmware, great signal everywhere, but the data throughput just drops out randomly and often. I can't even play a mobile game through WiFi like hearthstone. It will cause disconnects and I lose.

Detailed reviews show it is a common occurrence with the Tenda mesh system. Wish I got a solid router instead

So I ordered, but have not picked up, the NETGEAR Certified Refurbished EX6200 AC1200 Wireless WiFi Range Extender with Dual Antennas and 5 Ports for $37. Would this likely be a better system? We have a basement (where the modem is) and 3 levels (split level home).

Thanks in advance!

Fiber is fine as long as it's below 100mbps. If it's more than that, then get at least the MW6 or a Nighthawk.

People asking the same question again and again....this will only support internet speeds upto 100mbps and that includes any traffic connected hardwired to this. Meaning if you're transferring a file from one laptop to another and both are on WiFi then you'll get >100mbps link speeds but if one is connected to WiFi and the other is hardwired then your speeds will be <100mbps.

To summarize, if your internet speed is >100mbps then don't get this.
