Lowest price on this variable speed 10" drill press. This one has a 2/3 hp induction motor compared to the 1/2hp of the more recent/expired 10" Craftsman deal.

Walmart also has it for the same price too. Odered it for the in store pickup so it doesn't get thrown over my fence.

I've had one for a few years. It was variable speed before some of the bigger name brands. It's a solid tool, without being anything special, but that is really what I was looking for in a simple drill press. I've punched through metal and a lot of wood without any complaints.

Wranglerstar likes the WEN brand for entry level tools. He's recommended several lately, including a drill press. Might have to pick this up.

Not saying that this isn't a good deal, but be aware that CCC is not a great indicator for the lowest Wen prices. Back when Walmart and Amazon we're price matching/beating each other's prices on Wen tools, they primarily used coupons to bring them down to some rediculously low prices (I got the "12 variation of this drill press for $141), but CCC doesn't record coupon prices.

That being said, I love my Wen drill press and all the other Wen tools I bought at that time.

Any thoughts on how this compares to the the 10" Craftsman posted earlier this week? I know the craftsman was still ~$30 less, but only a 1/2 hp press. Any other insights from users?

Those were the days. I got the 8" wen drill press for $36. It's much cheaper but honestly it's been a good tool for the rare times I've used it. I was impressed with the quality. I'm sure this is *much* nicer

Hmm.. ordered mine last night and still think the deals pretty alright. I was also considering holding out for the 4214, but considering lowest ordinary pricing for the 4214 (excluding 2017) has been around $220 per keepa, $148 for a hobbyist woodworking DP was a more reasonable spend.. Still seems to be available at $148 on WM site with free delivery, with threat of better deals on BF?
