Maybe an obvious answer but im going to ask... I already have 4lines through sprint and dont mind the 2yr contact( i get a sprint corp discount with my work) and have been using sprint for over 10+ years. I do NOT need an extra line. How would i best utilize this promotion? Would i just open a 5th line and have that monthly rate be lower than the cost of a new phone? But then i would have a wasted phone line though. please help as i am currently in the market for this exact phone through sprint and i dont trust asking the service provider since they are known to BSing and far more trust my fellow SD'ers. Thank
If that line will be cheaper than a brand new s10 after 24 months then its a deal assuming you will stay with sprint for 2 years.

2 Years @ $65/mo Sprint: $1560
2 Years @ $65/mo Other Network: $1560 + $700 Unlocked Device = $2,260
2 Years @ $65/mo + $700 Unlocked Device + $80 Galaxy Buds = $2,340

Maybe I am just ignorant, but am I missing something?
You are missing the fact that there are carriers as good or better, for cheaper too.

Many MNVOs lease towers from the big 4.

Optimum mobile for example.

They lease off ATT and Sprint.

$20 unlimited for optimum home customers.

$30 unlimited for non optimum home customers

no minimum length contract required

Over 2 years period, you will be spending $1560 plus taxes with the $65 plan. For that price, you can buy an unlocked device for ~700, use it on a more reliable carrier, and then will still have leftover for galaxy buds.
Agreed!

I am on a grandfathered unlimited family plan with no contract. We have 4 people on the family plan and can add one more line is it possible to add another line with this S10 and then cancel my current phone number on the plan? Would that be eligible?

I have an old LG V20 that I've been using the past two years. I wanted to upgrade to a S10. So after being a nice complainer about lack of concern for loyal customers, one of the CSRs offered me a solution. Add a new line (w. a new generated phone number) in my account to get the S10. Upon activating the new line call up Sprint again and request a line swap.

Essentially put the new phone number with the LG V20 and put my original number (that I want to keep) on the S10. Cancel the LG V20 line. I would retain my phone number with the new S10.

Alternatively, you could be a pest to Sprint and keep calling / chatting with them till you find a CSR who would be nice enough to give you a monthly credit for the phone for 18 months. This requires a lot of work and patience (4 days it took me to do this)

Awesome. thanks fruit. I value my time with these equations as one should. But for a $600-900 phone. I dont mind making calls lol. I will too use the customer loyalty as a key to my complaint. Been with spring for 15+years

not sure why more people dont think like you. I dont see any reason to be under contract to the big carriers. Maybe for an all unlimited package but it seems alot of mvnos offer that too now.
because credit....have it now, pay later

Hmm wonder if I could activate a new line to get this deal, then swap to an old phone to sell this one.
I don't think the imei would be clean until the phone is paid off so no one else would be able to activate it.

Just to let you know, most unlimited plans will run you $50 (cricket, simple...) not a bit carrier. Next you still have to pay a month. 50x24=1200. And 700 for the unlocked device puts you at 1900, that is more then the 1560. Show me the savings????

Which sprint plan has that option? Sounds like a great deal if that's the case.

$10 a month extra for me. Unlimited basic $60, $20, $10, $10, ...

Good for current sprint customers who can add a line for no additional fee
It's crazy how sprint customers rarely get any good offers; my mother had been with Sprint for 18 years and they've never once granted her anything more than a month early "upgrade" and she's one of those people who Auto pay their bills every month, never being late.

I've tried to get her to switch but Sprints solid in her area. Blah

Add a line and cancel one of your old ones. Make sure that they don't change or add a new plan though. I was able to do this with other promotions, but have noticed that places other than Costco have screwed up my bill when doing so.
