As title says, Crucial MX500 500GB in M.2 (SATA III) form factor for $49.99 at Adorama until 09/25/19.

Perhaps not an amazing price, but I've had a price watch on this item set for the $50 mark for awhile and this is the first time I've had it pop up. Was gonna do a 4x RAID-0 array with these, but decided against it.

Very solid drive, though. IIRC, only thing better in the SATA III arena would be a Samsung 860 Evo/860 Pro.

Hopefully this is helpful to someone. Take care!

Again diverting from the topic. This is targeted towards SATA interface. Have some consideration before providing your opinion.

Holy cow, it wasn't that long ago that a 500gb SSD was nearly $200 even for SATA-III. It's really nice to see the prices fall this far.

Any thoughts on if this is a good deal? I'm looking for a good solid 500 gb ssd. Or should I wait for BF?

Can someone please point me to the correct external enclosure for one of these drives?
There are so many different type of connectors on ebay. Do I need a m key or a b key? Thanks

This one is SATA 6.0 Gb/s.

SATA 6.0 Gb/s vs. PCI Express x4, which one?

Ended up buying it. $49.95 OTD shipped to California is worth my waste of time hehe

Can always use it with PS Classic and or as external unit with proper case.

This is a SATA III drive in m.2 form factor. Here is what I discovered while researching it.

The biggest surprise in our testing came in the game load times. You can read more about the test in this article with over 120 drives tested. The MX500 500GB 2.5" loaded the game files in just 14.755 seconds. The 860 EVO 500GB 2.5" did the same task in 16.052 seconds. Using the same image cloned to the M.2 drives we recorded times of 32.922 (MX500) and 34.529 (860 EVO) seconds. Performance in the same motherboard with M.2 SATA is quite a bit different from a 2.5" drive hanging off a standard SATA III cable.

Buying a SATA interface m.2 drive seems like a pretty small target audience these days. Also I feel like I've seen plenty of NVME/PCI-E devices in this price range.

Ah. Bite the bullet and got 2. Hopefully crucial is still good with the QC as they been solid performers for me before. My old disk platter on my storage comp can really use an upgrade. At this price, I'm will to take the risk it dropping for BF.
