$130 < $154, so yes. This is a deal.

If I wanted to, say, remove the hard drive from it's enclosure to place it into another housing such as a NAS or a Desktop... Is that something that I might be able to do with this drive?

Nah its been the same. I want to buy 4 myself, but ive waited so long now, i dont want to pay the normal price. Its been this way for over 2 years now. I feel like if i had to wait this long i want it closer to $100.

Lol! Yeah, the elements and easystores are now super easy to shuck and they made the mybooks slightly harder to shuck now. Used to be the opposite. Go figure.

If you are a new google shopping customer, and use code SEPTSAVE19, you can get this for $128.39 after tax. YMMV

I shucked the same model Easystore in January and it was a WD Red drive. At worst you get a White drive and have to tape up the 3.3v pin. Either way, you can use the drive in something else.
