Let me put it this way. You'rebetter off with an Asus than with an Acer, Dell or HP.

These are some fantastic specs for the money, and it'll even game pretty damn well. I don't know this model personally to know about the cooling or anything, but the Ryzen 7 3rd gen is a fantastic chip, with a GTX 1650 which is a very solid GPU and a 512 SSD? 16GB of RAM would be nice for gaming but shit for this price you can't ask for more. That's a nice price. I would guess this is at least an $1,100 dollar laptop not on sale without even looking. I'll add an edit below after looking it up.

Edit: Looks like about $1,000 for 8GB RAM and $1,100 for 16GB RAM per a certain site that has Egg in the name.

Edit 2: Looks like there was confusion on what I was saying. I meant NOT on sale the pc is probably around a grand and that for this sale price it's good hardware for the money.

It says RGB keyboard but it seems it can only designated one color in the entire keyboard. No zones?

FWIW I was about to pull the trigger on this seeing the 3rd gen ryzen, but there may be better options in the price range. Mobile processor naming confuses the hell out of me, which might be what they are trying to accomplish.

Yeah it confuses me as well. We're you able to decide if this particular one was a good one to go with?

What are you smoking? For $1,100 you could get a 1070 laptop.

This is Zen+ architecture, not Zen3... Zen2 isn't even out for the H series. U hasn't released either.

$1100 for a 1650 is a bad joke, but I'm sure many would fall nonetheless.

bought this last time it was posted and love it. only gripes are the 10 key is really small and the trackpad clicks weird like it feels really cheap. but I hardly use either of those features so it's been great. runs any game I throw at it full graphics.

I'm not looking a gaming laptop per se but interested in a laptop built for someone who is on the move a lot with their machine- moving it from car to house, vice versa. This model mentions a rugged design for this- any other suggestions?

That CPU seems to really be lacking.

Here is a comparison against a 1st gen ryzen 3:

How's the build quality on these Asus laptops? I just don't want it dying on me in a year or two... anyone with long term Asus mileage on their 17"?
