The Acer 13.3" Swift 3 Laptop is designed for users who want a slim and stylish system that's also easy to carry around. Specs-wise, it's equipped with a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i3-8130U dual-core processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a 128GB PCIe SSD, and integrated Intel UHD graphics. Its 13.3" display is built with an IPS panel and has a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution for crisp details and vivid colors at wide viewing angles. With these combined, this system can handle everyday tasks from browsing the internet to streaming online videos, and more. Other integrated features include USB Type-A and Type-C ports, an HDMI port, a microSD card reader, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, a webcam, microphone, speakers, and a combo audio jack. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home.

The above description is for the i3 / 128GB version at $399. There's also an i5 / 256GB version for $499. Finally, there's an i7 / 512GB version at $629.

Faster than the i3, slower than the i7.

One of the best non ymmv laptop deal under 400 and 500 respectively, ive ever seen. I7 isnt worth it over an i5 as there isnt much difference in performance

This is a upper middle tier laptop at budget pricing

100% srgb and around 300 nits 1080p ips display. Not your budget low tier ips display found in laptops in this price range

I'm posting from my i5 version that I've own for almost half a year now. Performance is great, but my biggest complaint is that the aluminum is quite soft. I have a dent on the back panel of my screen and the keyboard noticeably flexes even with moderate key presses. Keyboard is also a bit mushy, but I got used to it. Screen is quite dim, not usable outdoors, but suitable for indoors.

I'm just throwing this out there for people in the market. I'm happy with my purchase overall because of the specs and would buy again. If you can, I would pay a bit more for a better form factor.

Man, this was such a good deal, I got one myself. I use a MBP almost all of the time but I occasionally have to connect to my car using a special interface and it requires Windows. So I will literally use this a few times a year when I do oil changes, brake pad changes, etc. Facepalm

Well, let's see how good B&H's fulfillment process is. It's supposed to be here (TX) on Friday.

I agree with @Sugartoes. The i7 is neck and neck with the i5 and unless you wanted the larger storage option, it would be wasted. The i5 gives you twice the storage and 40-50% more processing power than the i3 making this more long-term viable than the i3. If you just needed the absolute best cheapest laptop out there, I'd recommend the i3. It all depends on what you need it for and for how long.

I should also note, this was by far the best deal out there. It came down to a Surface Go 4GB ($349 or so at Best Buy) or an HP x360 11.6 4GB/128 ($299 at Best Buy). I just could not ignore the upgrade for just $100: 8GB RAM, Full HD IPS, Core i3, fingerprint sensor (I'm lazy). Sure, I lose touchscreen but then again I have greasy fingers and it would necessitate a lot of screen cleaning. Big Grin

Source for dim display and lots of backlight bleed?

I was looking at

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Ace...261.0.html

And

https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews...ift-3-2019

They reviewed the i5 and i7 models respectively and displays were speced close 300 nits average and close to or at 100% srgb

Specs looks decent for the price. As a slim laptop, I suggest you to buy i3 or i5 to save battery life.

My 14" swift 3 won't wake up from sleep/hibernate by usb mouse/keyboard, extremely annoying when you use it as desktop. Acer claims it is a feature other than flaw.

Why don't you just bootcamp windows onto your MBP. You won't need a second laptop then.

FYI, the i5 was $20 cheaper a few weeks ago. It's still a fine deal.
