does anyone know if the 17" ram is upgradeable or is it soldered on? 8gb is not enough.

i don't know for a fact, but 17" is a large laptop, so usually it can be upgraded

That's my main concern. There's no mention of SCREEN refresh anywhere.

yeah, i ordered but i think im going to cancel. 60hz is not acceptable at this price point
after researching, this looks like the $1299msrp IPS 17" 60hz model. the 120hz model has 16gb of ram.

I don't understand gaming laptops at 60 hz. I know a few people are okay with it, but competitive gamers usually have 120-144 minimum.

I game at 240 on my desktop. So I could always connect to my monitor.

Because not everyone is a competitive gamer? And not everyone uses these laptops for gaming, surprising I know.

But these should comes with a 120-144hz 1080p screens w/ a 4k option.

Yes, you can upgrade/add more ram. Unsure if it's 1x8gb or 2x4gb though. sorry.

The point is that these are named gaming laptops. You can use it for whatever your heart desires.

You seem like you have a kind heart.

They say gaming to catch the eyes of gamers. And it's easier to people to understand gaming = powerful. It's marketing. These are great for video rendering and whatnot as well, as I'm sure you're aware.

https://www.costco.com/MSI-GL75-R...08748.html

This deal seems sure it has the 144hz panel at the same price for anyone with Costco Membership. I'd get this if I was looking for a gaming laptop.
