The TCL has full-array local dimming, while this is an edge-lit panel with no local dimming. This TV is Samsung's most entry-level 4K TV that I'm aware of. Still probably a decent choice and will likely have better gray and black uniformity than the TCL. Also, this TV will not get very bright. The TCL 6 gets very bright, which is great for HDR.

Yeah, just checked the reviews at rtings. Looks like this has similar performance as TCL Series 5. I'll pass and wait for a deal on the 6.

I'm giving this a thumb's up because I can't get it any cheaper via EPP.

This is last year's model, I bought one last yr from Fry's for 529 for the in laws. 2 HDMI ports so it's lacking. Not steal of the year, great entry lvl for grandparents and stuff but nothing to rave about. Best part is the $$$ but if this is your main then I wouldn't recommend it

What would be the best type of tv for a generally dark room BUT also has window sun/light outlines that reflect on my current screen?

~$550 seems to be the normal price for the warehouse store version (UN65NU6950FXZA , https://www.costco.com/Samsung-65...55688.html and https://www.samsclub.com/p/samsun...od22464498) of this tv.

Don't know if that version has any design or spec differences with what's on sale at Best Buy, but the warehouse version has a 3 year warranty.

It depends on your budget and use. If you are on a tight budget and not a tv nut, this tv would probably be just fine. If you are a compulsive tv researcher this one will probably be a disappointment. You get what you pay for. I would put this in a spare bedroom but not consider it for a main viewing tv, but that's my situation. I think it is a decent tv with a good price and 90% of the people considering it would be happy with the tv. Of course I am basing this all on nothing other than my opinion. I say buy it. 👍

Is it me or do these Samsung 4K TVs have glare issues. Because for my 2017 55" Q6F Special Edition seems to absorb the sunlight or ceiling light and disperse it throughout the entire display. My older non-4K Samsung TVs never had this issue.

The guy at best buy just told me this doesn't actually have HDR it just supports HDR? Is that right?
