I have 4 of these, and they DO show the speed of the connection. Green = gigabit, orange = 100/10.

FP worthy!

Great and reliable switch at an amazing price. Very rare for it to go below the $16 price, so if you've been waiting for one, pull the trigger.

Already have 4 of these... not even using all of them. Should I pull the trigger?

Picked up two of these from Newegg a while back. I believe it was the same price but no tax for me. Solid switch, but note that the lights only indicate that a port is active. The lights do not show the speed of the connection.

Would this switch be sufficient for a wired/networked home as the first switch in the setup, so cable>modem>mesh router>switch> then hardwired access points throughout the home or is there a more preferred type to handle the bulk of the initial throuput?

I was lucky enough to have a house wired with cat5e but terminated for for rj-11. This, along with rj-45 terminators, allowed me to use Ethernet for two raspberry Pi's, my PC, Nvidia shield, Synology NAS, firewall, and etc. I have three of these around the house and they are solid. I paid $24 for each of these back in March off of Amazon, so this is a good deal!
