Ok so maybe someone gets unlucky and there is a heat wave for a few days. But odds are you will be fine. The average temp in london in August is just 73 degrees. Its crazy to let the threat of a hot day keep you from going. That could happen anywhere in the USA. It could easily be 100 in ohio for example or it could be more normal at 80.

What's crazy hot, like 95 and humid or like 108 and dry?

Yeah late September is not June July and August. Which are the dates for the sale
weeks they had this summer and last summer of well over 95° in London. It's horrible. They have limited air conditioning in most places in Europe enjoy

That's not typical weather that was way above normal. It may be perfectly fine next year.

But it's not useable for the next 10 days:

Departs JFK: June 1-4; July 4, 6-11, 13-19, 21-31; Aug 1-20, 2020

> average high for July 74f

It's a crapshoot. While the UK can be relatively mild.... pick the wrong week during a european heat wave and you'll be roasting.

For example if you traveled in the last week of july last year the high was 99F. And a lot of places don't have AC so that 99F can be pretty brutal:

The problem isn't necessarily the heat but the lack of AC in many places because the Europeans refuse to acknowledge that summer exists and just call it an annual "heatwave"...

You're going to have to deal with heat everywhere, a degree or two of that attributable to your President.
