For those that missed the deal earlier this month, these things are a lot better than just a dead bolt if someones trying to kick in your door.

Not really Satin Nickel as shown in product picture. more bronze/rose gold than anything. refer to pic for the actual color you'll get.

These will only allow the home owner enough time to go grab their shotgun. Which is fine.

I had the same thought.

Random home invasions happen so infrequently they aren't even tracked.

Almost all home invasions you read about the perps knew the victims, and know they have guns, drugs or cash lying around.

On a related note, perps actually look for signs saying "Protected by Smith and Wesson" since you are advertising you have guns in your home. They just wait until everyone is gone to work and school. Most burglaries happen between 10am and 2pm for that reason. Just go up to the door and knock on it, and if someone answers they make up some story about looking for a lost dog or whatever.

Note I have nothing against people having guns at home, just that you really don't need to announce it.

I need these for my 18 month old. I have a very busy street outside and he's already figuring out how to unlock and open the door (ugh lol).

These also work great to keep toddlers from escaping out the door.
Not too long ago this 4 year old boy came out of his house and started crying at 4am looking for his mom. I heard the cries and went to investigate. Ended up calling the police and turned out the parents were home sound asleep. This device would have prevented that.

Sorry man, you have no idea what you are talking about. You shouldn't state your interpretation as facts when they are far from factual.

Every door is parallel to the jamb.
It does work if you have 2x6 framing
It does not mess with the framing integrity.

Just make sure you use long enough screw to attach the studs behind the door jambs. 4" if you have them.
Agreed

Not all houses are made the same.
I could say the same about your 4" screws

I have brick houses that 4" would hit the brick.

Now don't say there's framing on the inside of the brick houses. These houses were built in the 1920's. Double brick construction, no insulation with a 1 1/4" door jab. No studs behind these jambs
No house you would be installing a security device into has a load bearing door frame you dingus. In fact no house at all has a load bearing door frame. If you don't believe me, go cut all your door frames in half and let me know if your house falls down.

Anyone with a tiny tiny eency weency bit of handicraft can install this in any door frame with a kitchen knife and a screw driver.

If you have bricks or stone behind your door frame..guess what theres a solution for that its called an anchor.

Applauselaugh out loud
