Cats like to drink water that is a) running, not stagnant and b) far away from contamination (food sources, litter boxes). They also like to have multiple fresh sources. So yes, it is normal, if they have water that meets those needs. Lots of cats have a bowl of water (stagnant) next to their food bowl (contamination) which is two strikes against what their instincts are telling them. So they don't drink it because their instincts direct them not to, to avoid illness. If they then only eat dried food, they become dehydrated, their kidneys become overworked, and they die.

Very good food for cats, but hesitate before buying for dogs. FDA is currently looking into grain-free diets for dogs due to recent issues with nutrition and a link to heart issues. My wife's clinic is currently cautioning owners to steer away from grain-free dog food, so read this [akc.org] before pulling the trigger. Definitely check the list for the breeds predisposed to this type of heart disease if you're considering this for your dog. Nulo is not specifically named in the list of reports to the FDA but if it shares the same main ingredients then it might be worth swerving.

Also worth noting is that grain-free or not, wet food is better for your cat than dried food. Cats have adapted to get the majority of their water from their food - animals - and a diet of exclusively dried food WILL lead to kidney failure (and a protracted spell of urinary incontinence leading to a painful death) later in life, unless your cat is an anomaly that drinks water like a madcat. I wish I'd known this sooner and saved my older friends some pain and suffering.

Thumbs up and repped. I recently switched one of my animals over to Nulo and this is a very good price especially for the larger bag.

I just got two kittens a few months ago and they certainly drink water often. Is that not normal? Lol. I feed them both dry and wet food.

Totally normal. Cats in the wild usually get most of their water from their prey, but domesticated cats need plenty of fresh water.

Nulo is a good brand but keep in mind the FDA has an ongoing investigation into grain free foods right now. I'm not saying to avoid this food, just to be aware of this investigation if you are currently or have been feeding grain free foods in the past.
