Poor ratings, does not make the 2019 top 40 on most review charts. Some installed apps do not work. Games are slow and lag. Fails all WIFI tests with a 40% signal loss. The X88 PRO is a 4gb DDR3 model but performs like a 2gb model. Overall the X88 PRO is a poor choice, many boxes in the under $50 price range that outperform the X88 PRO

For under $50? That is good price point for tv boxes, i try and stay around that price. In no order - T95Q 4/32gb - Tanix TX6 4/32gb - A95X F2 4/32gb. All under $50 and can be found at that price or less from USA shippers. I feel that once you hit around the $70 price a person should just save for a Nvidia Shield ..... Nvidia has a new box(es) in the works so the 2017 16gb should come down to the $99 range in a few months, report suggest before xmas. That's why i say if your on a budget the boxes i listed will stream great and do games also.

Fire TV stick 4k frequently goes on sale for $25-35. I'd recommend that up until the Nvidia shield.

Just get a fire tv and sideload kodi or whatever app you want. Cheap, reliable, works well. Enough said.

How important is 4/32 vs 4/64 ?

I've been shopping for something like this that's not a fire stick and just way too many options on amazon.

this for 55:

https://www.amazon.com/Android-EA...B07CSQL7WJ

vs

this for 59:
https://www.amazon.com/Android-EA...ast_bbp_dp

Is 64GB RAM really useful in things like this?

also, fulfilled by amazon still worth it or should I find other US shippers for these things?

Got a few Amazon fire stick 4k last year when it was on sale for $25. After using it, I can not see why I would want to get any other Android TV boxes.

For TV shows/movies, fire stick 4k is your one-stop hardware. To add peripheral hardware, use OTG USB splitter. It can connect to SD cards, Bluetooth mouse/keyboard, etc.

My 16gb box has 94 apps on it with 6.5 gb left for more apps. I believe 32gb of storage is plenty. 4gb of ram is a must have. All of these tv boxes perform about the same with minimal deference between a 7.8 rating and a 9.0 rating , each has a different UI (USER INTERFACE). Watch each video review on Chigz Tech to help decide which one you like the best. Reduce the 2018/2019 charts down to 75%, the review links are to the far right on the chart page. I prefer the Tanix TX6 UI but you decide. Remember Amazon's return policy, it could come in handy. The 8gb of storage kills these deals. Mi box is wifi only .... no hard wire if you need to.

If a Fire Stick was really that good i would be using one. They sell a lot of them but they are very limited on functions - "they are a stick" .... Then there is the other caution "Amazon pushes an update and POOF! your sideloaded apps are gone.

I don't like being in Amazons world anymore than i have to be. Apps are much easier to install on most boxes so if a Fire Stick was really that good i would be using one. That is laughable, the Shield doesn't even have 4GB ram.
Personally I would never consider a box that doesn't have Android TV OS. None of the boxes you linked are fully certified and therefor cannot play 4K Netflix or Prime and many wont even stream HD Netflix.

https://www.iptvinsider.com/netfl...droid-box/

Netflix has only ever certified:

NVIDIA Shield TV box (Amazon)
Apple TV
Google Chromecast
Amazon Fire TV (Amazon)
Roku Ultra (Amazon)

For your box to be Google-certified, it has to support Google's WideVine L1 (Level 1) DRM. [widevine.com]

The topic is "TV Boxes under $50". I recommended the best i know of based on price and performance. The devices listed are Level 1 or Level 3 all have the full version of the google play store , certified devices only support the limited play store. Most consumers interested in a budget box are ok with prime and netflix at 480p for obvious reasons. I do own or have owned 3 certified and 4 non certified which has helped me decide on my recommendations. The $180 shield has several performance issues from the last 2 software updates that nvidia released , nvidia has not fixed all of the problems. I have a shield, firestick, several roku's all new on the self in front of me. apple is not even considered, they have released their app so people don't need the over priced apple box. right now walmart (sd post) has 4 models of roku's on clearance. I recommend pairing a $17- $30 clearance roku with a $40 box i have listed, this gives the customer the 4k apple app, 4k amazon app, 4k netflix app and 100's of totally free roku channels along with select apk's on the android tv box. A complete set-up for under $70 with no playback issues, full playstore plus games.
