Looks like $7.99 has been the regular price for this until recently.

Same price as last time I checked at Amazon. It is pretty much their regular price. In addition, it is not as convenient to use as other generic refillable k-cups which are also cheaper.

I got this about a dollar cheaper the last time it was posted. I feel like the coffee brews a little stronger than the generic cheaper mesh cups because the coffee comes out of a hole at the bottom rather than all the mesh on the sides and bottom and it stays with the coffee a little longer. Also, the cup inside is bigger so it can hold more coffee. But maybe the former is just psychological. Either way, I [think] I like this more.

if you ground your coffee fine, would any of it leak into the cup?

Thats what I do and I have found zero grounds in my cups thus far.

Edit: Obviously, I wouldn't do espresso fine.
