Ugly Stik Tiger Elite 6'6" Medium Heavy 1 piece is on sale for $59.99 on Amazon.

Normal price is 79.99.

I personally prefer the 7' version but 6'6 is certainly better for many applications.

Depends on what application...both are great regardless....only issue I see here is amazon as the retailer....many rods are delivered damaged...if you can price match it to a local store, I would suggest doing that

gx2 isn't made for salt water. Using it in salt water or in a humid climate with salt in the air is a guaranteed bad time over time. Tiger Elite will last a lifetime.

I own both and multiple other prior models. The gx2 is a great freshwater rod. I fish a lot in the Jersey ocean and leave my GX2 at home after ruining one from a week of fishing. The eyelets got obvious deposits in less than a week even after hosing it down within minutes of leaving the beach. I also leave my Lews Mach II at home when fishing the ocean.

There will always be posters on SlickDeals talking about how they've used their GX2 in the ocean everyday and never washed it and never had an issue. I simply shake my head.

Lol true. I've only used it in saltwater but I rinse with fresh time no sign of corrosion So far. To the comment above yes they are both great and I love the look of the tiger elite. No hook holder any suggestions on a fix for that?

Use the one from Fuji. They're like $4 from everywhere (BPS, TW), and they work when rods don't have one or you don't like where the hook keeper is.

Dicks Sporting Goods has the 7' heavy on sale for the same price!

Now I'm debating on which one to purchase.
Need something for tautog fish from the Jetty. So I'm leading to the heavy action rod
