These all say "New To CitiBank" which means you gotta pick the $700, $400 or $200 offer, right? Or am I misreading that

Just remember to read the fine print on these. For instance, it may be a two month hold, but when I did this last time the acct had to be open for like 4-6 months, and without 15K+, there would have been fees. So either calculate in the fees or loss of interest.

I wonder if Citi would count a CD as part of the savings acct? A short term CD could work to mitigate some interest lost.

You will receive the cash after 5 months. Need to keep money for 60 days and after 90 days you will receive the cashback.

Cash Bonus

The Cash Bonus will be credited within 90 calendar days from the date you complete all required activities.

Typical Commercial bank gimmick in that they give next to no interest on your money over the period. So you would have to close out your account right after the bonus is awarded and move your money to a real bank in order to take advantage. And you lose about 250 dollars in interest (assuming 2% on on the 50K offer over 3 months). So in reality, the best you can do is roughly a $400-450 bonus on the $700 offer for example assuming you are diligent and close out the account within a couple of weeks after the offer. Otherwise, they use you money for free, which is what they are depending on for the majority of the people.

5 months sounds about right... I did this last year but forgot how long I had to wait. But also keep in mind that the acct needs to remain open for those 5 months. So folks shouldn't keep the money in for 60 days, move out the money, close the account and still expect the bonus.

There is also the issue that with the checking accts you must keep a certain amount in or you get a fee each month.

$400 offer has a $25/month fee waived if --
Maintain a combined average monthly balance of $10,000+ in eligible linked accounts.

$700 offer has a $30 month fee waived if --
Maintain a combined average monthly balance of $50,000+ in eligible linked accounts.

And the cheaper $200 offer is a bit easier, $12 fee but waived if --
Make one qualifying direct deposit AND one qualifying bill payment per statement period OR maintain a combined average monthly balance of $1,500+ in eligible linked accounts. Fee also waived if first listed account owner is 62 or older.

So folks need to take this into account. Basically if doing these offers, figure the money will be tied up for at least 5 months, which means a loss of interest needs to be calculated in. Then it's not quite as profitable anymore.
