Actually bought this deal a month ago to setup a canopy area for my daughters birthday. I put it together with one helper. Velcro is kinda flimsy but the wife was able to sew it back on.

Don't buy unless you're willing to be the tent guy of your friend group and have everyone ask to borrow it

Hard to beat at that price, I just got one.

Just a quick heads up, I got fined over $5,000.00 from my city because of the size. I had to cut my other one down to 10x12.

Sometimes I just put it up for the weekend, then back down again for doing a quick project.
Who did you piss off and how?

And what law did you break?

Can all of the walls be rolled up and held at the top? Or just some of them?

Hey, I actually bought this tent as a flyer when there were 0 reviews earlier this year, AMA!

I've used it 3 times now, 2 times for a party and once for a whole weekend of camping.

Setup is just like any other canopy tent for the most part, except the need to secure the centers of each 10x10 section. It's very easy to do with 2 people, but even one could do it with patience and a bit of back and forth.

Quality is Good +. The actual tent canopy is thick and robust, I'm not seeing any issues with it so far after a total of 6 whole days of exposure (2 of them were heavy rain). I did have some water (a few drops) come through when the canopy was starting to pool, but after shaking the water off, it didn't happen again. The sidewalls are more of your camping tent variety, not super thick but they work well enough. I haven't used them too much as they seem like they might hold in heat, so take that for what it is.

The poles are great BUT it appears there isn't a lockout mechanism so if you pull a leg up too high, the inner section (that extends out) will come out completely. I panicked when this first happened, but a rubber mallet to the bottom of it got it to go back in as needed.

IMO, if you host outdoor parties a lot and want to have something to keep you shaded, or out of the elements (it was a lifesaver during a heavy storm for basically a whole day camping) then this is a no brainer at this price.

I would not advise doing that. The canvas certainly comes off, but these frames are not made to support the weight of a full palm thatch roof. Unless this bamboo product is a lot lighter than the palm thatch panels widely used around here..... These frames are pretty flimsy. Unless you buy one of the more expensive and sturdier built commercial type units, I would not attempt to thatch it.

You'd be better off with one of the more permanent type canopy or an actual tiki bar frame.

Unless he adds additional support in the middle which really limits the internal square footage underneath and within.

Bamboo Matt have more weight than the canvas?....as an Engineer, I would not add any unnecessary weight to a $99 canopy bought on sale from the internet. But a bamboo matt floor would be cool.

As an engineer, I'd say you would have better luck with a regular gazebo frame there are even some with metal roofs. I know price point is different but worth it for a semi permanent structure.

If this can't handle bamboo on top, which is a pretty light material, what does that say about the chances of standing up against a gust of wind? This is quite the sail.

Found the sukkah builder.
Thank you for the replies.
As DanielB figured out, I am trying to see if I could use the frame to make a DIY Sukkah.
I would be using a very thin and lightweight "bamboo mat". So I dont think weight will be an issue. I only need the structure (Sukkah) temporary, just 7 days.
If you think this can still work, please advise on out I could best pull this off.
Thank you in advance!

Any DIY engineers in the house?

Would I be able to modify the build at all? Would like to cut off the top canvas and replace it with a bamboo matt as the roof. Would the frame still hold up? Or is the roof canvas needed to support the frame and hold it all together?
Likely not. The roof is somewhat integral structurally providing tension to hold it together.

The walls are probably too floppy for a sukkah if that's what you're thinking
