Is this something u use in long term? I'm just worried about how to dispose it...can't go into trash due to the size.
So where do you throw out your old sofa, chairs, mattresses, appliances, etc? Same process.

Is there a good protectant to apply to the canvas? Other canopies I have bought have failed fabric after a couple of years due to the weather/sun and the replacement canvas is as expensive as a replacement canopy.

would this fit OVER a honda pilot?

want to get it for tailgating but sometimes there's only one carload of us and i may not be able to set it up fully

meaning if there were two cars to put it behind we would be fine

also will it stand up to winter weather?

thanks Smilie

Hey, I actually bought this tent as a flyer when there were 0 reviews earlier this year, AMA!

I've used it 3 times now, 2 times for a party and once for a whole weekend of camping.

Setup is just like any other canopy tent for the most part, except the need to secure the centers of each 10x10 section. It's very easy to do with 2 people, but even one could do it with patience and a bit of back and forth.

Quality is Good +. The actual tent canopy is thick and robust, I'm not seeing any issues with it so far after a total of 6 whole days of exposure (2 of them were heavy rain). I did have some water (a few drops) come through when the canopy was starting to pool, but after shaking the water off, it didn't happen again. The sidewalls are more of your camping tent variety, not super thick but they work well enough. I haven't used them too much as they seem like they might hold in heat, so take that for what it is.

The poles are great BUT it appears there isn't a lockout mechanism so if you pull a leg up too high, the inner section (that extends out) will come out completely. I panicked when this first happened, but a rubber mallet to the bottom of it got it to go back in as needed.

IMO, if you host outdoor parties a lot and want to have something to keep you shaded, or out of the elements (it was a lifesaver during a heavy storm for basically a whole day camping) then this is a no brainer at this price.
Thanks for the review - does the top stay on the top or do you have to fold it up and store separately each time?

We frequent soccer tournaments and having a single large unit with sides is very beneficial vs. a couple smaller units, especially if it rains.

I will sometimes leave the top on but make sure you release all the velcro or it will tear away from the top. I have had the velcro reattach while collapsing and tear away. Best to just take it off

For those of you thinking of using this tent as a car port or other semi-permanent type of structure, it's not.

It's made to take up and down, not withstand months of continuous abuse from the elements.

I wondered the same thing for a deck canopy I bought in the spring, did a bunch of research and wound up with Solar Shield [solarshieldprotection.com]. It took an entire bottle for a ~ 10x12' canopy. It's only been a year though. I've also thought of just using 303 [amazon.com].

Going to try to use this as a spray tent to renovate my car. I've seen a couple of YouTube videos of people sealing them up for a ghetto HVLP spray booth. At this price point I'm ready to give it a try. My wife think I am bat shit crazy. Oh well.

How long is the tent with it inside the bag?

Is this like an instant pop-up or a pain in the ass to setup as a usual picnic shelter?
