Is this like an instant pop-up or a pain in the ass to setup as a usual picnic shelter?
Pop up.

Anybody have any idea whether the Ozark Trail Connectents will work with this? Seems like they should. I might try to use this in combination with a Connectent for camping as a tent/giant covered porch, or maybe for beach or events and use the Connectent as a changing room or something.

Any DIY engineers in the house?

Would I be able to modify the build at all? Would like to cut off the top canvas and replace it with a bamboo matt as the roof. Would the frame still hold up? Or is the roof canvas needed to support the frame and hold it all together?

Would this work as a driveway conapy for the winter? Or is it too weak?

Too weak. This barely handles rain pooling as it will sag. This will deteriorate over time when the wind gets to the corners of the fabric. Not something you want to leave up for an extended period of time.

If you're looking for a semi permanent installation avoid this. Spend the extra $100 and get the costco carport. Night and day difference in quality.

Indeed however I'd note that these "instant" style canopies are not intended as long-term shelters. It's like complaining that you can't do 90 mph and ride your spare tire for 3 years.

So I have a 10 ft version of this.. I was just trying to figure out how gigantic the bag to hold the tent will be.. you are saying it's only 4ft long?? How wide
